He's clearly waiting for Swansea until he's prepared to do anything. Probably time to move on www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61920618The Championship club still want a right-sided player, while they remain in the hunt to sign Wales midfielder Joe Allen. However, it may well be that Swansea need to move players on before the club's owners will sanction a deal for Allen.

I hope we publicly take whatever offer we've made him to stay off the table and say he's released, he's really not worth waiting around for.

Never had anything against Joe as a person. He’s seems a nice guy.
Definitely have as a footballer though.
He was really really poor for us. Just not what I expected at all.
We won’t miss him.
All the best Joe.

Is this the same Joe Allen that had "Premier League interest" a couple of weeks ago?.. lovely, can't wait to see him on MOTD.

I hope he just goes with the clubs thanks. It's at risk of becoming a side show and we know what a drama the club make of them.
Thank you Joe, good luck for whatever comes your way.
Next.

Wonder if we'll push more for Rinomhota now we've got a definitive Allen answer (although you'd think we'd known which way the wind was blowing on Allen before it was made public)
There aren't many decent free agents left

I’m expecting a name out of the blue rather than all the suggested protagonists? Prem loan?

He tried hard, unfortunately he created more problems than he solved and despite a few decent runs of form, was mainly underwhelming or crap for the six years he donned in the red and white.
I wish him well in the final years of his career but it’s time for both parties to move on.

Well he's in the past now. Apart from scoring against us for Swansea as of course he will.
Must still have been some chunky cash set aside for him, so that gives us room for a decent replacement in the engine room, or to put towards a striker.

Do we have any extra in the kitty, or is it a case of we could only offer Allen a maximum of X (much reduced terms and inline with the rest of the league) and that budget stays the same for any other player?
I'm not convinced Allen leaving gives us any extra per head than if he would have stayed on reduced terms to be honest, and I would imagine his pre expiry wage to have been completely consumed by losses and salaries elsewhere.

Not going to celebrate this until I see who we replace him with personally!
Potentially is for the best though.

His mate was quoted as saying he'd be willing to sign for Swansea on 25% of his current wage (so maybe 10-12). And if that's the kind of thing we've offered, that'll be a really big offer this summer in the Champo - because we know MON loved him. We should have a bit more flexibility now, you'd think.
