What I would say about that list, is that Sima really has been excellent value for money!

Not sure how realistic this would be but a nice loan bid for Billy Gilmour of Chelsea? Possibly done Chelsea reserves with Baker. Could be decent pairing. Move Allen on then. Should be looking younger and use Allen as fall back.

Someone intelligent who reads the danger, closes gaps (especially if playing with attacking wing backs or fullbacks) Passes simply but consistently, good tempo Someone who links well Baker Regardless of what has gone on in previous seasons Allen currently ticking lots of boxes If we are being greedy someone with more of a physical presence (i.e. bigger) than Allen Maybe Thompson can step up, maybe we can get someone better on a free or a loan Lots od ifs, too many probably >let's keep what's working and sign him up

Even if we sign Allen we will still need another centre mid if Clucas goes. Baker, Allen & Thompson isn't enough to get through a 46 game season surely, unless one of the youngsters is ready to make the step up?

These figures are bollocks. We halved Clucas's wages when we renegotiated his contract.

I like Joe but happy to see him go now. I think the one place we really should spend any money we are allowed to spend is replacing Joe with a proper defensive destroyer. A real DM alongside Baker, with Vrancic and Powell rotating in the CAM spot ahead of them is a very decent champo midfield

Looks actually a different player now he has movement infront of him I'd keep him for at least a year if he lowers his wages. Hes needed it for a long time also with Baker their he's not doing the job of two players the whole time.

Definitely not a fan of his and my initial thoughts are the sooner he's gone the better.
But and it feels gross saying this, if we can get him on the right wages c£10-£15k in this market then it may be better to keep him for a year as he has played better with Baker in the team and also as we've seen from January a high turnover of players takes time to integrate, so one less change could seriously help.

Think this would be a very underrated summer 'signing'. The fans will by and large knock it but think we'd miss him if he left. Have been quietly impressed with his form post Baker's arrival. New deal for Allen and MON would be most welcome this summer... Spot on! He's been superb recently.

Allen is still good in terms and of his awareness and positional play but the number of passes that go to the opposition and the stupid free kicks he gives away undermine this completely. We need a more dominant mobile midfielder instead if we really want to progress.

Spot on He's been superb recently. Yes, but what are your thoughts on Joe Allen? Fuck him off, add some real physical presence and let people who can play do so. He isn’t and never has been one of them.

It's obvious from your previous posts that you're not prepared to appreciate Joe Allens talents. But he's a midfielder who can do a good job either centrally or as a holding player and is surprisingly effective, in the air, against taller opponents. I accept that it may be time for him to move on, but he has been a particularly proficient performer in his time at Stoke.

This is how he should have been playing for us since he signed and he hasn’t been close to it.

He still wouldn't have been good enough if this is how he was playing when we signed him, even with his recent purple patch he still looks a bit average. Such a massive waste of money.

Transfer fees + wages for 6 years = £30m Money well spent. He is only one of many. But that has nothing to do with our present situation, according to some on here. They don't seem to realise that every £1 you overpay each week is £1 you haven't got to spend elsewhere. I had hoped that MON would have some money to spend this June but it looks like he will be juggling again with swops, free transfers and very cheap players being all he can afford. What a mess. Hopefully, we will get a few bob from Burnley when they stay up.
