Good little stint for England. Before Athens all the talk was about withdrawals and a fragmented squad. Lee and the young uns have changed the agenda. And eight scored none conceded helps too.

I think we will be left wondering about it after we get dumped out of the World Cup in QF stage with Tuchel as manager.
Not just based upon tonight but I think we should have kept Carsley in the job. He is taking the team on beyond what Southgate was able to to do tactically.
With Tuchel its a case of starting all over from scratch again

Finland, keeper aside, are rubbish. And we lost at home to Greece. To better Southgate he’d have to win a tournament. I’ve seen nothing from those six games to suggest he’d take us any further.

The woman from the Octopus Energy advert? Octopi. Handy when it comes to a sectarian riot. Literally handy. While everyone else is limited to one petrol bomb, your average octopus can hurl eight at a time. Octopuses not octopi. The word is of Greek origin not Latin

They need someone to hold them obviously. And keep them well lubricated. I was once known as the octopus in my more gropey days of yesteryear. Equal opportunities put the kibosh on it though. Sad times That won't be equal opportunities that will be the 2003 Sexual Offences Act which classified groping as sexual assault. It carries a sentence of to 6 months in gaol for a guilty plee so in your case 4 years. Presumably the womenfolk of Hartshill are right behind you in getting the act repealed?

Tight pitches too. Although, I don't see is as real challengers for the gold fucker. Why not? It'll be a real slog of a tournament. Hot and long. I just don't see us as accomplished enough to handle the range of varying hurdles. Fatigue heat and bedragglement will take their toll. It really will be a situation where everyone in the squad will have to play a part. If someone has a good game and doesn't play next time they have to cop it. It'll be no place for mardarses. Another thing is, it'll be 24 years since Brazil last won it and it might be time for them to return to the top. And that part of the world will suit them I'd reckon. I'd expect a South American side win it. Which means Brazil or Argentina 😄

The word is of Greek origin not Latin I thought either was ok. What to Know The three plurals for octopus come from the different ways the English language adopts plurals. Octopi is the oldest plural of octopus, coming from the belief that words of Latin origin should have Latin endings. Octopuses was the next plural, giving the word an English ending to match its adoption as an English word. Lastly, octopodes stemmed from the belief that because octopus is originally Greek, it should have a Greek ending.

striker options: Watkins (29) Toney (in Saudi), Abraham (not great), Calvert Lewin (injuries)& Solanke who if he performs for Spurs might fancy his chances? after that looking at uncapped players like Delap Even if opting for Watkins over Kane would keep Kane in the squad for sure the other option is false 9 which after the utter debacle of Greece at Wembley would be a tough sell Given Tuchel had Kane last season would expect Kane to remain in pole position for now

To better Southgate he’d have to win a tournament. That's a tall order. Very tall order. None of England's managers (don't know the exact figure) have managed that in the last 58 years...

If you do give your gropey instincts an airing for old times sake remember to sexually assault a range of ethnicities and genders to get round the equalities act. Let us know how you get on, it's bound to set a legal precedent.

Surely the Irish fans weren’t happy with their teams display tonight? They were absolutely useless 70/30 possession 19/1 shots 12/0 corners 700/250 passes attempted They really shouldn’t be that far behind England to play the damage limitation game should they? One things for sure, the likes of Scotland and Wales would have made it far less comfortable I mentioned to an Irish friend of mine how tragic the first half was and he was genuinely buzzing about it, he figured they had played superbly and were excellent for not letting England score. Only focus was to stop England winning, I’m betting he couldn’t have named half of the Irish players.

The only way we can consider picking Kane is if we build the team around him to account for his lack of pace and tendency to drop deep. The way he plays doesn't suit having a number 10 behind him (he's always in the same space) and we have an abundance of quality players vying for that spot.
His record for Bayern Munich last year suggests there's still life left in him, but we can't be picking him if he's in the same state as he was at the Euros - it was like playing with 10 men.
I wouldn't ditch him completely yet, but we have to explore different options whenever we can. Watkins, Solanke and Toney are probably the only alternatives, none of whom are anywhere near the same level that Kane was at his peak.

Liam Delap is a good 3 months away from an England call up imo.
If he carries on as is then I think he’ll be in.
If he runs cold then he’ll stay in the 21s.
