If Saka has a bad period between squads but Hudson-Odoi plays well, he's in. We can afford to chop and change.

It will sharpen minds and performances too.

The only attacker I'd guarantee a spot to atm is Foden.

It'll be interesting to see who Southgate gives a chance to in the upcoming internationals next month and in the summer.

Will Bowen make a charge? Interesting he's odds-on at the moment.
Jacob Ramsey seems to be getting a lot of buzz, whereas the Conor Gallagher buzz seems to have dipped a bit

People like Rashford and Sancho ,although he's picked up a bit, must be sweating on their places.

Even Maguire is getting panned for his form, but obviously there's no way Southgate won't go with him.

I reckon all the Man Utd lads will be concerned currently (though I reckon Shaw is a shoe in due to no other reasonable replacement)

I reckon only 1 of Reece James and Trent Alexander Arnold will go, Walker will go as a CB but will obviously act as RB back up option.

I'm not sure Grealish if nailed currently, Southgate doesn't seem completely sold on him and his form this season has been iffy. Stones really needs to go find regular football as well

I'd go for:

GK: Pickford, Ramsdale, Pope.

Def: Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw, Chilwell, Alexander-Arnold, White.

Mid: Rice, Mount, Bellingham, Ward-Prowse, Foden, Grealish, Phillips, Henderson.

For: Kane, Sterling, DCL, Bowen, Saka

We haven’t got a world class defender in the country. I honestly think it could be Maguire, Stones, Coady or James fecking Chester. That is an area we are in dire need of major improvement

Odd isn't it. Walcott was awful for England but constantly picked due to club form. Hateley and Stone going back were often better for England than their clubs. Barnes rarely performed at International level like you say.

Hateley was better for England than his club!! He scored for fun for Rangers, I don’t remember him getting many appearances let alone goals for England. Likewise Stone was v good for Forest
