If Lewis had made that challenge 20 yards out it would have been a free kick, therefore it's a penalty. No it isn't. Unintentional contact that does not in any away interfere with the passage of play isn't a foul Agreed. If that is a penalty, there are about five penalty worthy fouls committed at every corner, given the amount of physical contact that goes on, or are we saying that it only matters if its his face?!

😂 I think we’re being a bit one-eyed here lads. Yes, it’s a contact sports, but any contact - elbow / fist / palm to face is a free kick all over the pitch nowadays - in the box it’s going to be a pen 9 times out of 10. By that logic, players may aswell start head butting people’s arms when they go up for headers, as it’s not far off what’s happened here. A joke of a decision.

It’s not any form of bloody logic - we see it week in week out! I’m not saying it’s right but contact to the face is virtually always given as a foul!

What a pile of absolute wank. VAR needs fucking straight off. The most blatant penalty you'll ever see and they don't even review it and a complete nothing and they give the penno. In fairness it's the fair outcome but it's come about via the shittest route. Pickford again punished for his usual form of flapping the ball back into the area. Harsh on a keeper that following a penalty save. Harsh on a keeper that statistically has never made a single mistake that's directly led to a goal against England. That alone is a good answer to people asking why he keeps getting picked by Southgate. He's extremely trusted (and earned that trust), dependable and, despite what some seem to think for no apparent reason, a damn fine keeper.

That tackle on Grealish was more of a penalty than the one given, follow through took his legs away as he was going to go clear

How does it take so long? Correct decision this time but unacceptable how long it took to get there. It looked offside in live play and certainly in the immediate replay but Dion never mentioned it then. Sure he would have done though if other way around. BM

No it wouldn't or at least it shouldn't be If that's a foul then every accidental contact of any kind is a foul is that what we want? Shouldn’t be and wouldn’t be are 2 very different things. Of course it’s not what we want, but why so many are surprised I have no idea. It’s a foul all over the pitch in the modern game. Utter rubbish - that’s not even mentioned anywhere else on the pitch. That’s never been a foul anywhere until tonight
