I can’t agree. I think 99% of the time he’s fouled. And we don’t dive enough. We need to dive more. Everyone else does it and gets rewarded, why shouldn’t we? It’s not leaving the game any time soon. He also plays for the foul, its clever play. He knows he gets kicked, so uses it to his advantage, which gains us as a team an advantage. Why would any Stoke fan complain about this? Surely players going out of their way to intentionally kick him is unsportsmanlike? It is. So because someone does something wrong, you should as well? I personally find it odd that people are happy watching adults throw themselves around like war victims. It’s distasteful and embarrassing. There was a goalkeeper recently who was recorded lying on the floor smacking his hand to the ground and screaming as though he’d been stabbed as he went for a 50-50 with an incoming striker. The replay showed the striker made NO contact. That’s cheating. It’s crap and it’s wrong. It’s also far too quickly becoming the norm. The more something is accepted, the more exaggerated forms of that thing are accepted.

Most of the teams in this country don’t give a shit. It’s time to give the fight over diving up.

Isn’t that a part of what makes sport/life interesting? We all like and condemn different things? There’s a lot to Brown that you don’t like and I do. Neither of us are really wrong, it’s just what each of us value.

If we are not selling Powell, then we should pay him double and offer him a long term deal, so we can build a side around him that suits his play. Just asking.

It’s all about opinions though. I think you must watch him with rose coloured glasses on. No I realise a flair player and wingers for that matter drift in and out of the game and some games don’t turn up at all. I do expect more good games than bad. He does frustrate me at times yes but all in all he’s a decent player but a player who is overrated by some. I don’t watch him with rose tinted glasses, I watch the actual game and his contribution - the goals he’s regularly scored and the chances he’s regularly created. Again, Tachyon’s Sentinel piece here backs that up www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-nick-powell-contract-7029699.ampThat’s pretty good stats to what he has played this season and he scored at boro. Needs to play a full season though to get a better rating

Let’s hope so. He’s the main man if injury free along with Baker and Soutter and takes us from being an also ran to a contender.

Sounds like any extension, even by 12 months, will be on a re-negotiated salary, lower than his current deal he signed when we had the parachute money - and it won't just be a matter of triggering the extra year.
And if that ends up being the best deal he can get, and he signs it, it shows the way Championship salaries have collapsed since he joined.
(of course, he may actually want to stay, and we suit him perfect geographically)
Hard to think of many clubs in this division who could offer him big money, certainly in the north-west. Maybe Sheff Utd with their parachute money if they stay down, WBA may be commutable but they seem to be targeting Swift?
Whoever from Burnley, Leeds come down (maybe an Everton in financial turmoil?)
And probably no Prem interest?

We haven't heard from MON in ages?. If we're having pre-season in Ireland, I think we can take it to the bank he's staying (if we needed any further evidence!) Bit odd though. Wouldn't have thought convalescing from a hip op rendered him mute

And probably no Prem interest? This is the same Nick Powell who was content to stay at Wigan of course. However, it'll be his last chance to negotiate a decent salary you'd have thought and unless someone comes in with something out of left field I'd be surprised if he left. If he did it'll be to protect his future and good luck to him. However, I really want him with us.

How many games as Powell played over the last 3 seasons ?? 93 over the 3 seasons. 30 season 1 when he was out of favour under Jones and didn't really break in to the decide until December. 42 season 2 almost an ever present and our runaway player of the year 21 season 3 interrupted mainly by a broken leg which you can never account for, still managed 6 goals in the league though despite making only 14 starts

Heard it all before A player getting injured and not being the same again? It happens oddly. Are you saying Bojan wasn't a good player pre injury?
