I really like Fletch but his finishing is bloody frustrating sometimes. Hope I can be excused a bit of passion! You can of course. It’s more the general vibe of depression and gloom. That was a fucking decent win. And everybody does get frustrated at times, but the real giveaway for these so-called "fans" is that they keep up a non-stop barrage of negative drivel and then promptly shut-up when we score or do something good. I mean, I understand feeling a little sheepish, but not even as much as a "Yes" or any celebration at all. Then 5 minutes later when the initial euphoria of scoring has died down .... voila! the non-stop negative barrage begins again. They are not fans. They are either bots designed to increase posting traffic or Vale fans simply trying to cause discontent a culture of failure because it is so bloody painful to support their own team.

I present the insight of a random selection of Stoke fans on the match thread today….. “Bloody hell Allen. Can’t make a slightly difficult pass. Fletcher is brainless. Just pass it into the bottom corner. Silly stuff. Wilmot can’t pass the bloody ball. All a bit ragged Allen... Jesus Christ. What a piss poor team we are Very, very sloppy. Midfield is insipid. lack of strength and control in our midfield. Allen and Thompson lack any authority. We're on the road to nowhere!” To clarify: -We’re into the 5th round of the FA cup - We kept a clean sheet -Our new signing scored - We comfortably beat a side that haven’t been beaten in 20 games in all competitions Some Stoke fans = like my fucking arse As I’ve said on many occasions most people that frequent the match threads never ever go to games I sure don't, but that is even more reason the naysayers should tone down their drivel. I mean it's not an occassional comment, it's like turning on a faucet and the only time it stops is for a few minutes after we score. Then they are absolutely silent.

Have you ever actually been to a football match? A lot worse was being shouted throughout the game. Football is all about emotion and most comments are an immediate reaction to events and is usually entirely fickle: a misplaced pass results in the player being denounced as a useless wanker, 5 minutes later and he scores and it's all hail the conquering hero I wouldn't read too much into any of it Show me where the worst offenders on the matchday thread "hail the conquering hero". It is just an almost nonstop stream of bile. Not a good word to be said at all.

'Get up you fucking tart' 'fuck off you bald headed prick' 'Get in em you fucking arsehole' 'send him off you fucking c*nt' Comments from block 27, row 28-ish. I've apologised for that...

I'm sure it's ubiquitous to every forum but ours is perhaps driven by the disappointment of not regaining out Premier League status. That's said even in the PL people were often very disatisfied. Perhaps wanting the team to fulfill the gaps in their emotional/social/work lives? Who knows

I think what gets my goat (whatever that means) is that posting stuff online requires a bit of time and allows a few seconds to cool off and think. We all shout stuff at matches but then maybe regret it instantly. Which is fine and all part of it. But it’s different online. You have time to think. The fact that some people just want to post negative crap over and over again is what I will never understand. Yesterday I found particularly odd and annoying.

And this is where you made a complete fool of yourself because the 'fan' was commenting on the 'tactics' and thought process of the other players for having him running on to a through ball which we did a couple of times (fruitlessly) before he had the ball passed to him square to score his goal. You probably were not even watching the game and listening to radio Stoke or you would have known what the comment was about. You don't thread through balls to Alan Shearer deep for him to use his pace to out run defenders because you'd be pissing in the wind. Does this mean Alan Shearer is shit, no, not in the slightest. I'll set you a challenge, show me how many goals Maja scores between now and the end of the season chasing through balls from deep, take note aswell because I'll certainly count how many times the through balls happen to further my point, to you. Your comment had no context but let's just ignore that. I think youre just a bit bitter personally because you have spent the entire pandemic championing virus measures, vax's and counting pointless cases now you look a bit stupid and my recent comments on the thread had you sucking lenmons, quietly. Maja is no speed merchant, he won't be out pacing defenders unless one isn't within a mile of him it's as simple as that, if you want him scoring plenty, you've got to play to feet and get players around and ahead of him, that was obvious in the first 10 minutes. I don't believe O Neill can't see that after yesterday, too

Just a thought, if anyone can be arsed maybe the worst offenders should be named and shamed? 🤔

what the match day thread says is getting far too much focus. In the heat of the moment people do say rash things and if things are getting edgy you get annoyed. And there's different approaches on a message board as there is in a football ground because there's lots of different people.

Well maybe it’s negative shit we have been watching Beating a side on a 20 game unbeaten run. 2-0 Fifth round of the cup. If that’s negative shit then give me more. I can’t comment on yesterday’s game I was talking in general over the season why there’s negative posts. A good win yesterday but let’s not forget they are a division lower.

What is pitiful is giving a shit why someone called someone a moron on the internet 8 days ago 😂😂😂 Or caring what people say in the heat of a moment during a game of football. You’d make a great politician. A Tory one. I can pay you no greater insult. So who’s being negative now Calling other Stoke fans twats for a opinion there’s only 1 twat on this thread and that’s you

Answers on a postage stamp please.
