Another day another Met fiasco What’s more worrying Is they wasted the use of fifty officers watching thousands of hours off cctv coverage Somehow arresting two for murder and three for kidnapping Only for her to be shacked up safe and well in Hampshire Personally I’d charge her and whoever was in charge of the investigation for wasting police time I wonder if the same resources are used for every missing person For what crime?

Wasting police time is an offence. It's good that you justified it with a response mate because I wasn't going to bother 😁

Wasting police time is an offence. Give them a ring if you have a shred of evidence that is what she has been doing. We all know the Met are a bit shit (as well as corrupt). I'm sure they'd appreciate the help. 0207 230 1212

People are wise to it now though it doesn't work anymore, if anything it just has the opposite affect

Wasting police time is an offence. Lots of things are offences, she kinda has to commit one to be charged though

I don’t know anything about the case all i’m saying wasting police time is an offence. Being a black woman in Hampshire is still legal in spite of how much it may offend some people. Why would it offend or be illegal for anyone to be a black women in Hampshire Or anywhere else ? Well it’s not is it it’s just a cheap dig The police have already stated the lady in question was aware she was being looked for I’m sure it doesn’t take a lot to be able to contact the police and ensure them your safe What I’ve found most concerning is how do you actually arrest two for murder And three for kidnapping when now it appears she was safe all along in the long line of met police incompetence it must rank fairly high Not of course in the league of murdering a innocent Brazilian tourist in which the officer in charge gets promotion to the top job

Wasting police time is an offence. Lots of things are offences, she kinda has to commit one to be charged though Exactly. Time will tell as to what happened but with the resources used and media campaign it’s surprising that she never came forward to say she was OK considering the time that passed and the fact that there were arrests made of innocent people if my memory serves me well. All conjecture of course and We’ll have to see as to what her explanation is but usually in such cases with the lack of policing recourses currently available unless there’s a reasonable reason as to why she didn’t identify her self as being safe eg a breakdown' I can’t see it just being dropped. I’d imagine you’d look at 100s of thousands of pounds went into the investigation which i can’t see just being written. That said the main thing is she’s safe and well.

Perhaps the Police should have done slightly better when they encountered the poor lady in a ‘distressed state’ on July 6th when she was already registered as a missing person or when they issued pictures of an entirely different woman during the search. The IOPC are suffuciently concerned with how this investigation has been handled to ask for it to be referred to them but lets blame the lady and even charge her, eh

Best thing to do is wait I guess and see how it plays out.

I'll give Rowley some credit, he's coming out with the right things. I gave him a hard time when he was elected. He just looks like one of those bent old coppers. As it is, he's proving me wrong. My biggest fear currently is the police are like a wounded animal right now and that makes them dangerous. If anything, they're more dangerous than before. You can easily see another one of those Daniel Morgan situations occurring; one of those tasked with investigating the police, being found dead in their car, with an axe through their head, the doors locked (from the outside) and the car burnt out. Naturally the police would rule no foul play and the cause as suicide.

I did see this on BBC It kind of begs the question, Misogyny and Racism is obviously a reflection of a proportion of Society generally, but to what extent do certain Professions attract a higher proportion of people with these attitudes A bit like previously The Church and Child Care Institutions attracted Paedophiles and other Sexual Deviants or Sadists.

I think it’s likely that whatever your job and whenever there’s an inspection issues will be identified and raised. Clearly emergency services are more under the microscope as are roles like teaching so those employed in those professions conduct need to be exemplary clearly they’re not. The only role that probably wouldn’t be open to improvement and change would be the self employed.

I can imagine many dangerous and maladjusted sexual predators being very attracted to work in the police and it's no surprise that the numbers of accusations of sexual assault against coppers is sky high. It's the perfect role for a diddler really. No accountability, no consequences for committing serious crime and a abundance of vulnerable women and young girls. There's no need to be picky either, kids come included free with the territory it seems. Unfortunately in this awful world, many of those tasked with protecting us have long abandoned their duty and are actively seeking to harm.

Not the Met but there's no other place for it: this news about the DG of the IOPC being forced to resign... If it's a 40 yo offence then presumably it's criminal and outside of summary offence (magistrates) type stuff, which usually indicates something serious. You can only hope it hasn't been covered up until now.

Because depending on how it was recorded they would require RIPA authority. Was it covert or overt and directed/targeted, what information was gathered and for what purpose all those things would need to sorted and authority asked and gained before hand. Just a guess at what's in the headline.

Just a guess at what's in the headline. And yet a private citizen can film without any reason whatsoever. Mostly but not always and it depends what it's been recorded for. Most people don't gather personal information while recording which could have happened in this case. Data protection and RIPA covers most CCTV etc so you need to make sure you're acting/recording lawfully while gathering evidence which is what the police were clearly doing ie watching protesters and gathering evidence which could be used in court.
