We're not sacking him are we? I can't quite believe we are making this catastrophic mistake, yet again. Someone give me 3 valid reasons why he should stay? Tell you what... Give me 2. The lethargy, lack of ambition and incompetence shown by the leadership and by a small minority of supporters is quite astounding. It's so painfully obvious this guy can't take us forward. You can just see what's going to happen... Shit start to next season and then they'll get rid of him. It's not going to take a lot for the fans to turn come August. On the flip side, we could get a decent, ambitious manager in, get some positive vibes back in the club, get the fans interested again and give them an entire summer to assess the squad, make changes, bring in new players etc. Why wouldn't we give it a go?! As Nixon said the other week, we are quite literally "sleepwalking". His whole attitude is Northern Ireland. Try not to lose but if you do lose try not to lose by more than the odd goal. It boils my piss.

Sums the club up really. Loyal yes, but also incredibly naive and unambitious. Great. Strap in for another season of mid table mediocrity.

It's going to be yet another season of inconsistent performances, a few false dawns, numerous infuriating defeats, and excuse after excuse from this negative, boring, clueless manager. A leopard can't change it's spots and, as has been said, we're getting MON in full Northern Ireland mode - Keep things tight, try not to lose, and if we do lose, then keep things tight so it's only by an odd goal.
After the last couple of years of total disappointment I don't think it will take too long this season for the crowd to become increasingly frustrated and angry.
Can't wait !

I don't think Coates react that much to anger. Empty seats and people not paying 3 quid for a warm coke however and they start to get edgy. I think we've all seen this film before Can we just fast forward to early November when they realise they've fucked up again and have to appoint a new manager to manage the old manager's 6 new signings that he doesn't want again....

I have to agree, but even then, when they finally recognise change is needed, they'll probably wait until the January window, like they did with Hughes. Everything is always too slow, too late with our Board.

Maybe at the main source of the problem all along. The owners. Just enough to wake them up not drive them out.

Agree about the train set but her Brother and Father are both billionaires in their own right. They’ve no need for pocket money from her.

How has he failed? We got more points than last year, despite major injuries and ffp. Wake up we are an average Championship club and we don't have a divine right to success. Your like a load of spoilt children who can't get their own way.

He failed by getting out performed by numerous managers with much fewer resources. He failed by making attending our home games a chore. He failed by making us into Northern Ireland (try not to lose but if you do lose try to only lose by the odd goal). Spoilt children I’ve not liked our choice of manager for the vast majority of my time as a supporter starting with Durban, yet they’ve all gone and I’m still here. Own way my arse!

The one thing that has definitely held us back is Ffp. That's all Mon has had to work under but I do agree that his tactics at home have been negative. However, we haven't seen what he can do with an open cheque book, unlike the managers before him. (Recently). If we keep on slagging off the owners we may live to regret it. We have some of the richest owners in the history of ,not only Stoke City but the football league, and they are Stoke Supporters. Although I understand why the players have been given such a hard time in the last few seasons we must all realise it's one of the main reasons they struggle to perform each week. How Brown has managed to score so many goals when , if he reads this fanzine (which he ,and they nearly all do) is amazing. Imagine what he could of done with a crown willing him on to succeed. Same with the rest. It's truly amazing Joe Allen even bothers to put his boots on some weeks. These guys are all human and are desperate to be supported. No one has been supported since relegation, but I understand why that has happened. I believe it's time to draw a line, accept what we can't change and get behind what we have and see if there's an improvement. Now I've said me piece bring on the hatred ,I don't really give a fuck

Blame the players to a degree and the managers a lot. The atmosphere at the ground has been mainly muted and could quite justifiably have become consistently toxic. Our owners are vastly wealthy and undoubtedly supporters but they’re also architects in chief of our downfall. You sound like another excusling willing to point the finger of blame anywhere other than where it belongs.
