So is he staying? Hugely depressing state of affairs if he is. Lack of enthusiasm for the new season will be at an all time high. Looks like it. We'll be trying to bore our way to the play offs. Shit football, shit ambition, can't wait.

If they were going to sack him, they should have done it months ago. There’s going to be a decent squad overhaul. Any new manager should have been given time to assess before coming into a cold preseason with limited information on who is worth keeping and what needs addressing. As they haven’t, I’d be shocked if they brought in someone else. It would be a nonsense decision now, a week or so after the final kick of the season. He probably has a very decent idea about the standard of the U23s from having several go into first team training for much of the season.

He's not a young guy and maybe unable to weight bear and get around. This is probably why Dean Holden is heavily involved.

Shit football, shit ambition, can't wait. you don't have to worry about him boring us to the playoffs mate, I can assure you of that if the past two seasons are anything to go by I'm pretty sure he won't produce much exciting football. The play offs are a really low aspiration imo, it's something you settle for once the main goal becomes unobtainable. If you set out aiming for mediocrity is it any wonder when you fail to even achieve that.

Our form since November doesnt give me confidence Why worry, maybe we'll eventually find a level where we feel as if we should be able to go out and give a few teams a good hiding.

We also need the recruitment team who gave us Sam ‘At Least We Got Our Money Back’! Surridge to deliver decidedly more hits than misses this window just to stand still.

He's recovering from a hip replacement, he's probably been told to rest up at home now the season is over for the main squad, why keep travelling from Edinburgh, doctors have probably said to rest and let it heal

Looks like it. We'll be trying to bore our way to the play offs. Shit football, shit ambition, can't wait. Im more worried about being in a relegation battle. Our form since November doesnt give me confidence Our form since November had us marginally closer (points wise) to the playoffs, and in no danger of relegation. We even had a positive GD. Why would this make you think we’ll be in a relegation battle? I’m not saying he’s the manager to get us promoted, but I find it strange that some fans think he’s going to take us down when he’s never had us anywhere near relegation. www.transfermarkt.com/championship/formtabelle/wettbewerb/GB2?saison_id=2021&min=16&max=46

That could conceivably prove to be a bit of a perfect storm. Hope not, obviously, but I’ve been surprised people have dismissed it out of hand. It’s as likely, imo, as us making the play offs.

I absolutely get it, I do. I don’t think he’s the man to take us forward. But those who are at the extreme end of the MON-OMETER simply ignore any good spells, and quote the wretched run as a reason why we will go down if he stays. “If you ignore all the games he’s won, then his record is terrible…”. It’s such a dumb argument. I also agree that he’s as likely to sneak into the playoffs as get relegated, but I think that either would be down to extremely good or bad luck, and nothing else.

Massive summer for him & the club, have to get the recruitment spot on, if we start poorly the fans will be on his back straight away, then if a change is needed mid season, we will have limited options..again.

I agree, but the last window was massive, the window before that was massive etc etc. The issue is, do we trust him to deliver? I hope I have to eat my words, but I don't have the confidence in him unfortunately.
