For anyone wondering what he's currently up to, take a look at Leicesters 5th goal v Watford yesterday.
Etebo gets caught in possession on the half way line, Leicester fluidily attack straight from him losing the ball and power forwards & score a great goal.

Maybe he will come back & want to prove a point to Watford? I mean him & Baker in midfield would be class.

Watford (now a Championship side) could afford him easily, with spare change from down the back of their sofa. They've decided against it. He's done nothing whilst here, to show he's anything like the player he thinks he is, in his own deluded mind. He's not Premier League class, and he's been found out. He's got a year left with us, and then he'll be off. As someone has already said, he epitomises perfectly, everything that's gone wrong at this club, since relegation.

joins, signs a 5 year deal on big money, then asks O'Neil for a transfer when the team he is in doesn't perform in the first season in the Championship, so sulks about taking loans to average foreign clubs whilst sucking the club dry of money and starving it of progression
anyone who thinks we should be welcoming him back or trying to get him in the team needs to remember how much he is being paid by SCFC for playing for other teams
A proper pro would roll up their sleeves and leave everything out there for the club who made him very rich. He is a bloody parasite and I cant wait to get rid

If Raya Vallecano want to give us real money for him then sell! £1.5m would be massively useful.

The closest player to his style that he could replace is Baker, who is one likely to get in 40+ league games next season. He’s not shown a great defensive nous to play alongside him. Thompson seems better defensively than Etebo and we’d likely be looking for someone else for that role anyways. He’s not as good as Powell going forward, or Vrancic.

Don’t know why anyone would expect him to play like a DM when he’s not being asked to play that role. He can drive forward with the ball but imo does very little with it. Looks like a player who could flourish as a DM to me. Personally I prefer a taller DM but he’d be a sight better than the lightweights we’ve tried to employ as our deepest midfielder.

I clearly remember MON saying he’d instigated the meetings with players individually to gauge their commitment. What would you have done lied to his face on the Thursday/Friday then gone in on Monday and said I’ve changed my mind I want a transfer. Players want transfers all the time you don’t have to ostracise them because of it eg Kane/Spurs.

It’s just a job to them, he must have felt he’d made a bad career move. It’s hard to disagree with his assessment.

Whelan wasn't the most athletic but he could smell danger and you can't teach that, not at Etebo's age anyway.

I agree for the most part but I also thought Whelan developed significantly as a player from the point when he played with NZonzi. It was quite a transformation, but its probably for coachers to judge whether that capacity to improve is there.

He’s not played for us as the deepest lying midfielder so you can’t expect to have noticed him playing that way. A player should be able to play to instruction if he has the attributes to fulfill the role which we agree he does. As I’ve said he’s by no means my dream DM, just think we’re desperate for physicality and it’s his strongest attribute.

Is it? can't say he strikes as being overtly physical dribbling from deep is his stand out asset, perhaps he'd be better on the wing? it's all moot anyway as he has burned his bridges
