Good player in there but even before his injury I think he was found out after the initial surprise factor he had. It's a shame we didn't get to see a prolonged period of him trying to figure out how to counter defenders that had been well briefed on him. It'd be nice to see him back and I think he probably needs it after the injury and missing so much but no mither if he doesn't come back. 6/10 for the time he was here I reckon. My memory might be playing tricks on me but I’m sure after the initial surprise factor opposition teams were making sure they were doubling up against him and that’s why he wasn’t as effective. Would definitely have him back here next season. They did and he kept running into people and didn't use the ball quick to use the space that would have created. I thought he looked really poor and unimaginative once it started to happen and didn't seem to have an answer to it. Which is fine, it's his first time playing league football. That's why the injury came at a bad time. We didn't get to see if he's got the brain power to figure out what he needed to do or if he just kept running into defenders and losing it.

I’d like to see him next season. Think he’s got much to offer when at full fitness

Wouldn't be a bad option for next season as long as the plan isn't to play wingbacks.

As close to an exciting player as we had in the second half of last season. Got found out because, apart from Tymon, he was the only one who moved the ball forward with it at his feet.
Would imagine he’d do well next season with Powell in the team.
Would imagine that “doubling up” would be much easier to overcome if DWP and/or Campbell lifted their performances on the other side as well.

I was only disappointed when learning that his name isn't pronounced like Versace. Was wanting to hear Nige call that one out.
He always seemed to want to move the ball forward, even if he did run into defenders. Refreshing change from our usual fare. For his own development, I think he needs another year here with a preseason. We'd certainly find use for him.

he’s undoubtably a talent and i’m sure played in the right system could blossom.

he’s undoubtably a talent and i’m sure played in the right system could blossom. His position is on the left in a 433 or 4231 He's a fantastic young player but if we're not going to play that system then there's no point wasting his or our time signing him.

You’re right. He should have passed the ball forwards to all those willing runners in the channels. If he’d have done nothing but pass the ball back to the centre mid, he’d be moaned at as well. He was completely stifled by “a lack of support”, which is too common a statement on here and it’s brought about by us not developing a strong team ethos.

He kept running up blind alleys and didn’t play well. He’s young and inexperienced, that’s fine.

He was the only player who actually took anyone on during those couple of games you speak of, when you say he ran into blind alleys I'm not sure what you expect from a player who tries to be offensive and won't pick the easy back pass like most of our players do. It's not his fault he had no options available to him.

Again it happens and it was a shame we didn’t get to see if he could learn from defenders knowing how to cope with him. He kept doing it and losing the ball. That’s just stupidity. He was trying the same tricks and getting robbed. That’s where he has to think and develop. He didn’t have the time to do that.

So far he has struck me as a typical young kid with good dribbling skills that won’t pass the ball because he thinks he’s better than everyone else. Hopefully he’ll grow up but I wouldn’t take a chance on him.

It'll be very interesting to see how he does.
Has the potential to do big things.
But also could end being very meek.

I would have been pleased to get him back.
But if we're playing wing-backs, why would he come if he was only ever going to be used off the bench or once every 3 or 4 games?
I don't think McCarron seems the kind of player who'd play in a front 3 either.
