Seeing that the other players have have taken the risk of being vaccinated, Novak is taking advantage of their % performance doping reduction. No wonder he does not want the jab. That’ was their choice. He wouldn’t need a medical exemption certificate if he had been vaccinated so why the continuous has he / hasn’t he conversation is still ongoing is a strange one If others have been allowed to enter the country having produced the same documents then it does seem unfair Consistency and clarity should be applied

The "choice" argument falls flat on it's arse when it's proven that vaccination dramatically cuts hospital admission. I view people that make the "choice" argument to be to blame for the cancellation of my child's eye examination at hospital this week. You should be asking Boris and 10 years of NHS underfunding why the NHS was understaffed by 100,000 nurses before this pandemic started. He might know why the appointment was cancelled. But a tiny percentage of unvaccinated people in a hospital occupancy whose bed numbers have halved in 30 years isn't the real reason. www.kingsfund.org.uk/publications/nhs-hospital-bed-numbers

Didn't they invite him and then deport him? Don't tell the Aussie PM though he's busy jumping on a bandwagon. The Australian tennis federation did yes but Morrison said if he didn’t meet the criteria he be treated the same as anyone else and rightly so He must have met the criteria, else he would never have gotten on the plane to Australia. He holds a medical exemption which is perfectly allowed and other people have been allowed to enter the country on such grounds. I've travelled plenty of times during all this and airlines are incredibly strict with paperwork and Covid status, people get turned away from flights for tests being minutes out of date. I can't believe for a second he would have been allowed to board his flight if he didn't meet the entry criteria. From the rhetoric Morrison was giving, it was obvious they were going to find an issue and make an example of him for his own votes. It's as simple as that.

Why don’t you blame druggies and people with dogshit life styles also taking up beds? The NHS and social services are there to help people that have fallen through the cracks, and I'd like to see people that cannot look after themselves, get better care than they have in the past. Fact is, the needs of such people have been built into the system and the pressure on the NHS currently is unnecessarily harder than it needs to be because of those people that have chosen to to get vaccinated. Every government does things that I disagree with, and the immunity side of vaccinations has been vastly unexaggerated, (probably as a means of mass persuasion). The main reason for vaccination has always been about relieving pressure on hospitals, and the evidence is very clear that having a jab reduces the chance of hospitalisation and death. Anti-vaxxer choice is harming hundreds of thousands of people as they are forced to wait even longer for hip replacements and the like.

No. That would be the NHS being turned into a big pharma jab and profit factory for a cold. And the highest number of those in hospital are not 'unvaccinated' but double-jabbed people classed as 'unvaccinated'. A let's be straight about what hospitals are full off. The fat and morbidly obese. And the unspoken theme that has been prevalent throughout in supposed covid victims mugshots. Are you going to start targeting the Anti-Salads?

My wee lass was discharged during lockdown too and told to just go a high street optician who'd refer her back if needed. Always dodgy demonising a sub-section of society and personally more attributed it to underfunding/ poor management of NHS which last two years have helped divert attention away from. Doesn't make it any less frustrating though! About a decade back I'd been waiting 6 months for a knee scan and it was meant to be first week of Jan but had to be rearranged with the letter waffle about winter pressure. Had an appointment a few months later where they said 'good news is there is no cancer in your knee' - never even knew they were looking and probably could have been fucked if there was.

Both parties come out of this looking like absolute fannies and wouldn't have happened if they'd stuck to their respective guns rather than trying to find a fudge.
The zeal with which his probable deportation is being met with is disturbing though.

Hospital care is currently being lost because of a failure in government policy to allow fully vaccinated staff to attend work if they test positive. Hospitals are also full of vaccinated patients with Covid. Which of those two are also responsible?

Djokovic is the most high profile sportsman in the world to question the vaccine. And not let’s go on “joe Rogans” podcast to do it either.
The msm are not showing the anti lockdown and anti restriction protests on the tv etc
The best thing Djokovic could do is say fuck you Australia and go home. That would send more of a message than perceived as not-vacxers on twitter
The Aussie open does need him more than he needs it.
Again I will highlight I sympathise with the Aussie public who have had amongst the harshest restrictions in the world to be annoyed with double standards over this.

Regardless of your views on the rights/wrongs of vaccinations you can always rely on the Aussies to make uncomfortable decisions and be damned with who they upset. This country on the other hand is always worried about upsetting people and how others might see us.If rules are rules and you don't like them, tough.. don't go there in the first place.

He followed the rules!! You can't even get on a plane to Australia without a complex visa application. He was medically assessed by TWO independent panels prior to travel. They deemed his natural immunity from Covid from 6 months prior infection were good enough for the exemption. All these folks saying he can't be unfit to take a vaccine are misreading the facts. He was given the waiver on his immunity, not his inability to have a jab. I'd wager he has higher immunity than a person vaccinated over a year ago anyway. I fully support his right to privacy over his medical status being plastered over the World's media. The questions shouldn't be about Djokovic but the system and Morrison playing politics with a looming election. Morrison has intervened personally to make headlines and appear the saviour of the common man. he's a charlatan.

So, despite him already having contracted covid, recovering and thus having antibodies, he's supposed to get a vaccine that doesn't prevent infection or transmission ? lol this virus has made a mockery of peoples ability to think logically! amazing to see it.
Pretty clear this is purely a punitive measure for disobeying the global medical industrial complex.

I've just seen on the news the Australian court had adjourned until Monday, so he is stuck at the airport until then.
What a farce, surely if Australia had such strong grounds to legally refuse entry, this would all be over?

“Fair play for outright discriminating someone based on what they’ve chosen to do with their own body and turning what was once viewed to be one of the best places on earth to live into a dystopian shithole police state”
Can’t say I’m surprised at the author of this thread.

The amount of people celebrating this is concerning. Coerced by the past 2 years If Djokovic has had Covid twice then he has antibodies and if he was willing to take whatever Australia's version of LFT or PCR test are and is negative for Covid and/or produces the exemption papers that he must have been requested to bring prior to flying then what really is the issue of him being refused entry to the Country???

Very reasonable people are starting to baulk at the impositions on daily life. It's not just the kids and young people the elderly are kicking off as well. What impositions are they? Are you being a pedant or have you been under a rock for the last two years? Holidays, nightclubs, shops, restaurants, football matches, tossers putting ridiculous wristbands on people who are fully vaccinated and the most criminal thing is what they're doing to schoolkids who are now starting to object. I'm vaccinated, so are my family, all my friends but they're now starting to baulk at the relentless impositions. The kids had this current cold over Christmas together with the bulk of their friends. I'm using cold in the most extreme sense because half of them were a symtomatic. I'd hate to think anyone close to me had a serious illness in the current climate. Vaccines have sorted this out, haven't they? Isn't that what we were told?

What about people losing their employment with no redundancy compensation because of their vaccination status. I would say that is a bit of an imposition. Not being able to travel. Depends where you are in the world, but its pretty obvious that people who are testing negative for Covid but unvaccinated are being discriminated against in a greater amount of countries without any evidence that there are greater risk to anyone.

For an illness that he's already caught, is immune to, is happy to test for, but no that's not good enough because he won't stick a fucking needle in himself? That's not normal mate.
