Simple question: depending on what we get for him £15/20m we should snap their hands off, would you trust MON with the money? His brief record in the market has been shocking. My answer is NO!

I used to think Hiyaduck was a wind up, completely mad or a sexbot that had developed internet capabilities. Either way a good question. Hate to see players go but if we got over 20 million would have to sell for me.

His question relates to whether we would trust MON to spend the money though. Selling him in January would be madness if we were still in or around the top 6. If we fail to get promoted then Harry will go. Who gets to spend the money is unknown at present.

The OP has a point. Just because a person is good at kicking a football*, and learns how to tell others to do it, it doesnt follow that he is automatically an astute business person with financial acumen.
Hyaduck is right -we need to bring in someone else to spend the manager's money. My shortlist would include Christopher Lillicrap (proven track record), The Man who played the boy of Kes in the film Kes but is now grown up into a man (has had many hard lessons in gambling and how to take penalties) or Karren Brady
*used to be kicking and heading a football, but heading is now banned. as is touching

All of these players have been signed for low wages and to increase their performances and through that their value. They arent expected to be the final version. Thompson and Brown have both got better with time and could be sold for more money. The rest will in time. If we get into a decent FFP position then we will be able to sign players who can deliver results quicker.

For the money we paid for Surridge and in the market (19 fees paid in the Champo) he should be much better than what he is. Him, Brown and Thompson are all good League One players. Thompson should be released for free at the end of the season.

I don’t think we’ve bought bad players I think mon struggles to motivate and instill confidence into the entire team.
We look shot again.

When we play well I do, West Brom and Swansea away for example, most of the games we’ve won this year we’ve been lucky and the ones we’ve lost we’ve been poor. The manager is out of his depth is my opinion.

How many signings have we made since MON arrived? I'd guess at 20, maybe 25 with loans.
You'd think law of averages there would have been 3 or 4 unqualified successes but its hard to come with even one.
I don't think you can park it all at MON's door though. I guess TS and others have a voice too and we hired that wonder waif tech savvy some time journo blogger from Millwall as 'Head of Recruitment ' didn't we?

A list of free players at the end of the season that are better than what we have is a poor reply? Go on….. I mean in Fletcher and Vrancic he’s shown he can get better in for free too.

It would put us in a position where we could look at better players with the FFP situation rather than shop around a bit . Doesn't always work of course but if we could ass 3 or 4 decent signings then all for it as chances are someone will soon come knocking and as long as in this league we have to do business

I don’t think you’re even being harsh there either. At the end of last season Fox was for me his best signing. Vrancic I think would top that now. I like Fletcher and Fox but both are injury prone. Don’t think he’s made a good loan signing yet.

Do some people wake up every morning with the thought that they want to make everyone miserable? There must be a collective noun for people like that.

I think everything is shit and we’ll sell Souttar for £1.25m, replacing him with a 37 year old Sol Bamba for £6m. Bamba will fracture his tibia whilst signing the contract and we’ll end up getting relegated straight to the conference, bypassing League 1 and 2 because in the EFL’s own words, “you’re so shit Stoke”.
