Comfortably slotting into disturbingly mental 2023's top 10 wtf moments:
20 hours in the slammer with no adult in attendance because they said a presumably lesbian police officer looked like a lesbian like her nan. Pure loving the power trip.

Pure loving the power trip. 5-6 police officers to attend the crime of saying someone looks like their nanna, and this with a right-wing government. Can you imagine what it would have been like under a Corbyn government, armed response, the army maybe?

Not that this excuses the treatment of this child. I suppose there could be more to this story than has yet been revealed, although the police force in this country is very much a captured institution so it wouldn't surprise me if dragging an autistic child out of a house for blurting out a comment that was construed as offensive is a full and accurate summation. The era of the thought police is very much upon us. Purely hypothetically but, if this was my child, they'd need riot gear and stab vests to get past me.

Four officers were sent to remove some Golliwoggs from a pub earlier this year.

The child had been out in Leeds city centre drinking and was brought home in the early hours. This is when the comment was made that sparked the arrest. As this former police officer explains, what the police did was unlawful. Akin to a home invasion/kidnapping. I sincerely hope it ends some careers and sends a warning to police up and down the country. This 1984 shit can't be allowed to go any further. Interestingly this former officer was harrassed by police for posting/retweeting content that was gender critical...when he asked if anything he'd said/retweeted was unlawful (it wasn't) and then followed up by asking why he was being phoned, he was told ‘I need to check your thinking,’...

The police need to be politically neutral at all times. When they aren't, we have a problem.

I'd struggle if a PC Plod wanted to check my thinking not to reply 'but you're probably thick as fuck elsewise you'd write the law rather than struggle just reading it' Fucking hell fire I'd get more sense having a Teams meeting with the Alsatian training kennels!

I'm putting "Government considering putting warnings about smoking on the inside of packs" into clown world.
If people get past the graphic image of a diseased organ I think it's a little futile. I suppose the warning on the inside could say "please refer to the picture on the outside". That could work!

www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-66508514Everything's bloody sexist. If I ask it for the England v Scotland score when I'm referring to the under 16s I doubt I'd get an answer too. Shouldn't be a news story.

Shouldn't be a news story. Not sure I agree. I'm not bothered one way or another what comes out Alexa as I wouldn't have one in the house - but the premis of inbuilt bias in AI is quite a serious point as per the last para of the article. "Being overlooked by an algorithm is only going to become an increasingly problematic experience as AI tools decide not only what we see and hear but also how much we pay for things like car insurance, and perhaps what healthcare we require". Wait until it works against you because you're young and Irish and then decide whether it's a story or not.

Wait until it works against you because you're young and Irish and then decide whether it's a story or not. I work in IT myself though and I can see the logic behind it when it was likely built. If you ask the score of England v Scotland you run the risk of being told multiple results based on if its women, grassroots, men, amateur, disabled etc.. So the code has likely historically made the assumption that if you just ask for the score between the 2 nations that it will check for mens score by default. And if you want to know the score for another varient then it expects you to say which such as "mens" or "womens". For instance I bet if you said "What was the score between England and Italy" it would give you the score of a mens football match. Does that mean it's bias against rugby, cricket, tiddlywinks? No, it's just because that when people ask for the score the majority of the time they're asking about mens football. This is something we've all experienced for the last 20 years. You google something and it provides the most likely result. I'd love to search "what were the football scores today" and be told the irish league football scores. But if there is premier league games happening, alexa will probably tell me those results first. It doesn't mean it's being bias in my opinion, it's simply providing me the results most people would look for. And then it is for me to then go back and change my search string and refine it to get specifically what I'm looking for.

Shouldn't be a news story. I suspect she could've just used Google on one of her devices which would have been quicker, but there probably isn't as much mileage in 'woman gets football score off the internet'. Google Voice Search is better than Alexa for this sort of thing anyway She probably felt like I do when I'm trying to find Championship or lower league content on BBC Sport and I have to trawl through loads of articles about the WSL to get there 😉

What kind of parent takes their children to see a sicko like this. Retards playing a game of virtue-signalling chicken. It's like a communist dystopia where they are going deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole, and scared to be the one to stand up and say "this is fucked up, I'm out".
