Pakistan look a really poor side from the bits I've seen in the last couple of games against Bangladesh. Be a surprise if we didn't clean them up again next month.

Just goes to show how much the ECB think of the 20/20 competition now with the finals day on Saturday Sept 14th being sandwiched in between 2 x 20/20 matches between England and Australia on Fri 13th and Sun 15th. Not only does it mean that the England/Australia players that took part in the blast originally can’t play but also I thought there was a reserve day for finals day also?
I was in the Green Room at the Oval today. An amazing day, but an absolute joke that play was stopped due to bad light. Particularly with floodlights on in the era of day nights tests.
Duckett and Pope were brilliant.
On a side note, the entertainment was great. Harmison, Gough, Vaughan, Tufnell etc. Just a shame test cricket rules do their best to ruin things.

I must say I can't remember a more one sided summer in recent history. The opposition is dire isn't it? Sri Lanka are not far off what you'd expect at decent club level (ie Birmingham league).
That said, England have done well and can only beat what's in front of them.

Yep, it looks England just want to bowl and therefore happy to lose the wickets swinging their bats, but it all looks very ugly. I hate seeing batsmen throwing their wickets.
I think they are doing the right thing with investing in the young Bashir though. He's got to be given the opportunity to develop and learn on the job, as there are no ready made options out there.
