The umpires are having a bit of a nightmare Test.
That is the 2nd time they have given someone out caught behind when they have missed the ball by a good 3 or 4 inches.

Got home in time to see the last wicket. A brilliant effort from England. Positive, smart cricket throughout the game.

Just watched one of the Hundred games on the BBC, is it me or is the standard bang average? I thought the whole point of it was it would be elite English players and top foreign talent, less quantity but far more quality. The whole thing is just a waste of time and the normal T20 tournament could have been funded and rebranded to still attract youngsters and families to it.......

It can be entertaining at times and it draws the crowds, seen one at Trent Bridge and to be honest most people were just there having a good night and weren’t that fussed about what was going on. That said I haven’t watched one this season as I personally don’t like the bits they’ve brought in to make it more “watchable”. It’s the opposite in fact.

Thought they may have changed it this year but no. It’s vile

The 100 is garbage and feels like a completely different sport to the one I love.

The whole thing is just a waste of time and the normal T20 tournament could have been funded and rebranded to still attract youngsters and families to it....... As mentioned earlier, the 100 is a dishonest tournament. All the fluff built up around it is an attempt to avoid an honest statement about what the tournament is really about - which is the introduction of franchise cricket into the English game. That is the innovation that matters, and the only real innovation the Hundred offers otherwise it’s basically T20 with 5 ball overs, shit graphics and garbage commentary. The ECB needs to accept that the English summer can only accommodate one ultra short format tournament and decide what it wants - The Hundred or the Blast. Personally, I’d ditch the Hundred.

A word on quality…
It’s fair to say it’s mixed.
Well, apart from the Welsh Wotsits who are abysmal.
Not much in the way of star quality on show, and many of those stars are hardly shining brightly. The tournament is also missing top players from Australia, India and Pakistan and… England! As the Welsh Whatevers will testify.

Not nice to see him get injured but you'd like to think this is the opportunity Harry Brook has been waiting for? Let's hope he performs if selected.

For the T20 Squad I wonder if they will recall either Roy or Hales to replace Bairstow. If they don't go for Hales then realistically it is the end of his international career.

No chance Roy will be recalled; his form in the Hundred was awful. England already have a replacement for Bairstow in the squad in Phil Salt, so whoever comes in will most likely not be in the starting 11. But it will be interesting to see who they go for… Recall Hales (as you say) Go for one of the irregular players - like Billings. Go for a new player, like one of those youngsters who have done well in the Hundred. One of those centurions for example. Recall Joe Root. I’m easy with any of the above options. But I’d Hales is my preference.
