India sponsored by BYJUs
Discovered the other day that cash strapped Romania sold their Jewish population to Israel to raise funds back in the 1980s
Bumrah Sounds like one of He-man's less successful antagonists 😁

Is that Crawley batting or is it a lookaliie? I think we've all been resisting saying anything about that opening partnership - but we can all breathe now; Crawley has gone. A good start though 107-1. It's been a while (I think) since we've last had a century opening stand. Or, maybe just feels like a while!

Why do they idolise Kohli so much? his batting record has been below average for a long time now and his antics are far from classy.

I'd love to get my hopes up about this and see another dramatic run chase where the ball gets slapped all over the place again, but it looks to be a classic Edgbaston test pitch. Innings totals decreasing with each successive one. If we get many more than 250 that'll be impressive and I'd wager that India are already out of sight, irrespective of how many Bumrah manages to smash over the ropes. If that’s right about the pitch at Edgbaston (it seems right from my vague recollections) it makes the decision to put them in first look even more ridiculous. Yeah, generally that's the thing to do on the assumption that batting fourth is hardest. England have made a bit of a mockery of that in the last few matches though. Solid start for a change. Let's hope the usual collapse doesn't happen this time. Four of the largest fourth innings run chases ever would be some achievement

My fault. I jinxed it. Sorry, everyone.
Argument for Bumrah being the best bowler in the world at the moment. I hate his action, but he sure takes wickets.

I'm going for 190 all out Basically Root and Bairstow have got to both score 100s, and even then Im not sure that will be enough

Jadeja managing to outdo Kohli in the “being a knob” stakes there.
Which takes some doing.
Edit… and another review gone. This one not absurd like Jadeja’s review but still pretty poor in that it hit Root on the top of his pad which means it was always going over.

I'm going for 190 all out Basically Root and Bairstow have got to both score 100s, and even then Im not sure that will be enough Think Barstow will get his usual 150, Root 50, Stokes 25 and the rest about 20 between them. About fifty runs short.

This is really wonderful cricket at the moment - very high quality with bat and ball.
A great context.
Less so, fortunately for us so far, with the reviews.

What fascinating cricket this. It all seems very easy for England at the moment but you just know a wicket will probably bring a couple more.

I resisted comment with my record of putting my foot in it. Well done England. Big first hour tomorrow Same - I can’t bring myself to say how good we are looking - but Root and Bairstow were magnificent in that final session. I just hope Stokes was paying attention; you can dominate without batting like you’ve got ants in your pants. Tomorrow morning is going to be very interesting!

I want to ask a stupid question. We're in the height of summer. The light at 7 pm was absolutely fine for batting. If the teams are 16 overs short at the end of the day, why not just keep going until they get them in or the light fails? We used to be able to play for longer than the extra 30 minutes until the ICC decided that as it was only in England that it was realistically possible to play a lot longer, it was "unfair" on the other Test playing nations. Me neither! I am old enough to remember the Lancashire v Gloucestershire Gillette Cup semi-final that finished about 9 p.m. (in the days when knockout cricket was played with a red ball and no floodlights)

I'd love to be the one to smash the winning runs and blow a kiss to Virat as he pops the fuck off. I love beating Australia but India really aren't far behind them for me these days.

I don’t want to generalise in any way but I’m going to. I’ve been to India multiple times and Oz only once but I find the Indians with a bit of money to be the most arrogant folk I’ve ever come across so I always like to beat them! The Aussies are more up for the banter and generally take a defeat quite well I think.

But I really dislike the way the Indian players are in the field more than anything. Although, trying to "intimidate" Mr Bairstow isn't going too well for them so far is it?
