Wonder if well open the boothen end 🤔 Harry looked pissed. Ok draw. Good chance of winning. Don't think Brentford will pull the crowds in to be fair. 8 or 9 k maybe

It could have been worse, it could have been Brentford away.

Is that what Carabou is? An energy drink? It is, as well as a originally being a swamp yak/buffalo and also a rock band since 1981. Sorry state of affairs that it’s the energy drink that comes up first in an internet search and our second cup comp as (well naturally) second. a brilliant song by Pixies

But the cup is named after the energy drink which is named after the other animal which is a Carabao, which is like a water buffalo. Anyways, the pixies track 👍

There's probably only Preston, QPR or Sunderland at home which would be easier than this so I would say it's a good draw.
We have a decent shot at the League Cup Quarter finals, for a 2nd year running!

Although they’re a Premier League club I’m very happy with that draw. We’ve got an excellent home record against Brentford, in fact we’ve NEVER lost a home game against them beating them both last season and the season before when for sure we’re not as good as we are now. I fancy a decent crowd will turn up, (15k?) obviously not to see them, but hopefully to see us progress to the QF again. A home tie at this stage of the competition is like gold dust and with them conscious of a must win game against Burnley a few days later I feel pretty confident about this one.

A really good draw. I think the battering they handed out last night to Oldham is a red herring. We can very much beat their second string side at home, though Forss is a very dangerous striker.

First start for Campbell hopefully as well. I’d expect him to start a game before the 27th of October mate I’d honestly be surprised if he did. One or two more games in the U23s and then a few sub appearances as he tries to break into the squad. There’s 6 games between now and then. It would be great if he is back in the starting 11 before then, but I wouldn’t be shocked if he wasn’t either, especially if he picks up a niggle like Doughty did last night or TOB did on his first U23 game back.

It's half term week I believe. Good opportunity for Stoke and Brentford to agree to some family orientated ticketing policy aimed at producing a healthy attendance.

I doubt we'll have to open the whole ground for this one if need be

The EFL get a say as well Which is why you won't see kids for a quid or similar for such games It's important to recognise these kind of games are good for getting kids into watching live football. I think it was kids for a 5-er about 10 years ago that got my lad into going to Stoke and away from supporting Liverpool. Shrewsbury at Home if I remember rightly. My ST seat in the "Sentinel" stand wasn't available, so we sat near the dugouts so he could see the players up close and all the matchday activity (as opposed to being miles away in a family stand at Anfield, which I'd agreed to a couple of times). He went from "OK, I'll go" to "Can I go again?" after that and never looked back.
