RIP, met him once when he was selling the ZX80 at a show - ma took me as she knew I was interested in computers. Had a chat about what the computer could do and the future. Such exciting times in the computing market, it was all fresh and new - thanks to people like Clive.
RIP Tech Hero.

An uncle had a Spectrum. I remember playing World Soccer League, a game that asked you questions and learnt stuff from your answers, and Joe & Blade I think it was called? Later on, another uncle worked somewhere that used Amstrad CPCs for six months then sold them on the cheap, so we ended up with an Amstrad and played lots of games the Spectrum was famous for as a result. Lots of fun, and most people these days could benefit from that quiet time waiting for tapes to load. Sinclair must have inspired a generation of coders and people who are still making games today. A great legacy, and maybe the world wasn't ready for the Sinclair C5. When I see a Spectrum or Clive Sinclair, this song often ends up as an earworm: There can't be a better song about home computing and gaming? I love the music and lyrics (Knightlore being my favourite game mentioned): mjhibbett.co.uk/songs/song.php?filename=heyhey16K

‘Horace goes bumming’ will be blarting into his rubber keyboard. Horace goes bumming would have made a great title for a mastertronic £1.99 game.

RIP. A man ahead of his time. Very much so. Personal electric vehicles 40 years too early. Had a go in one once when they first came out. You did feel very vulnerable so low down on the road, not at all safe for busy roads.

RIP Clive.
Hired a C5 to go from Weymouth to Portland after a few beers one afternoon to get back to the ship, wash and change then back into Weymouth for a night out, they were hard work up that big hill.
