Interesting snippet from an interview with Howard Kendall about his time at Everton in the mid 80s - on the controversy of selling Lineker and how it helped his team win the league because the goals were all channelled through Lineker, and when he left the goals were more spread around the team. And replacing Grsy with Lineker was deemed to be an error. Which doesn't detract from Linekers aceness

Mate Leverkusen are invincible. What you are asking of him is that Bayern also go invincible but score more goals. If they went invincible and lost out on goal difference you'd say he hasn't scored enough. It's not because of Kane that Bayern haven't won their league, it's because Leverkusen literally haven't lost a game all season. Leverkusen sort of make the point. An excellent team, an excellent coach. Better than the sum of their parts. Bayern buy the superstar and he makes the rest of them worse. I will acknowledge Bayern only just won it last year but still. I don’t think it’s a coincidence. Their season has been poor. Without Harry it would've been catastrophic. Astounding how people are questioning his contribution.

Its funny, that if his manager wouldn't have made those catastrophic subs with 5 mins to go, they would probably have hung on and everyone would be saying what a smart move it was for Kane. First Champions League Final and all that! But 5 mins of mayhem in the Bayern defence means Kane's move then becomes a complete disaster. Talk about fine lines!!!

Something quite amusing about last night’s Harry Kane debate and the opening page of this thread being Spurs getting battered 3-0 by Palace

I think he's a great pro and seems a decent bloke. Just a difference of opinion on a football player that's not even Stoke related, it shouldn't be that deep

Joselu's Stoke link doesn't end with him having played here.
His RM team mates have nicknamed him "Crouchy"...

Villa 82% possession Olympiakos 100% goals. Douglas Luiz with a shocking attempt at goal almost as bad as his penalty miss last week.

Villa terrible tonight. One of the Premier League's top 4 sides, conceding 6 goals to a Greek League side. Christ.

Simply weren't happy with just going through, they wanted that unbeaten record. 49 games without loss, domestic league won, final of the domestic cup and now europa league final... really hope they go on without losing a game.

They never accept defeat even when it’s staring right at them. What an incredible team, and they don’t even have an out and out striker.

Just a difference of opinion on a football player that's not even Stoke related, it shouldn't be that deep What do you want from Englands record goal scorer and what can Ollie Watkins do better? I think he has too much experience of losing out, which isn’t good for getting England over the line when he’s your captain. Watkins has been coached by Emery to stay within the lines of the penalty box, his game has improved massively for it, and it’s exactly what England need when you’ve got the talent we have in attacking midfield.

Remove the record scorer for one who has scored v Australia and San Marino

Harrison Biggins out of the Donny line for the 2nd leg v Crewe this evening. Injured his hamstring whilst celebrating a goal in the 1st leg on Monday with a knee slide 🫣🙄

I can vouch for that after doing one on a polished wooden Dancefloor at a wedding in 2009. Haven’t been able to kneel since👀
