Right......Just had an encyclopedia of a Stoke fan adamant that it was Summberbee NOT Tuart who took their shirt off and threw it at Pej. Let the argument continue...... Definitely Tueart, I'm afraid. I was in the Boothen at the time.

Were we the main match in the Midlands / Granada versions? All they showed was the goals. Typical MOTD I mean TBM bias

The four nil was in 1975. Hudson ran the show and we looked like winning the league! The coming together between Pej and Tueart was Jan 28th 1976 and was a fa cup night match, and Pej chucked the ripped shirt into the paddock. It wasnβt a replay, we were behind schedule due to the roof blowing off the Butler street. (I think) π

If my memory serves me right when they were 4 0 down they left the ground and on the way back to the train station smashed every window in sight.

I can't remember who's shirt it was but I'm certain it wasn't Summerbee's. And it happened at a night match.

That 4-0 victory against Man City....Hudson walks on water? He glides on mud!
The passing play was a thing of beauty

Went that match π Bottom left of the boothen, lady with the bell ( Man City fan ) sat in the front row of boothen stand just to our left Funny how things stick in your mind I know I was at an impressionable age but that bell certainly sticks in my mind. I could point to where she sat. Pretty sure it came over, clear as a, on the telly highlights too.

I remember one time she was sitting in the Boothen Stand ringing her bell ( maybe the 4-0) when a Stokie in the rear of the stand lobbed a pie at her and hit her smack on the head. π

No it was Dennis Tueart and it was a cup game, night match. From memory (sketchy) we won 1-0. Tueart was skinning Pej that night but Pej just grabbed hold of him as he went past........the ball went past or Tueart went past but never both together .Tueart got that pissed off with Pej grabbing his shirt, he took it off and threw it at Pej and it landed on the grass just in front him, much to the delight of the Boothen and Boothen Paddock. Whilst Dennis was reminstrating with the ref, Pej picked up his shirt, wiped his face and threw it back down on the pitch again. Proper old school footie, not like the precious pre school shite we have nowadays. It wasn't the cup game when Pej through Tueart's shirt into the crowd was it? That was the 4-0. 100% correct Joe, it was the 4-0 the year before when Pej threw Tueart's shirt into the paddock, NOT the midweek cup game the following year.

Seems to be a plethora of Stoke games at the moment as last nights Big Match Revisted had Villa against us in 79/80 season at Villa Park
Think it repeated today on ITV4 at 1.30 or so?

Was based in Hong Kong at the time, but fortunately the local HK TV had Midlands? ITV or whatever it was called then, football matches on the following Wednesday nights (presume the tapes were flown out). Stoke regular appeared on TV that season, and many happy Wednesday nights were had watching Stoke on Black & White TV with several bottles of San Miguel
