How does that all work with signing the forms and medicals and stuff? I accept forms can be signed remotely but medicals?

To be in Brighton's position now.. Being able to afford to buy exciting young talent across Europe and loan them out for experience.. £7m for a young prospect for a premier club is small fry really. They’ve had a good solid recruitment model for years to which we should have been envious of even when we were in the prem. it’s a model that we seem to be now being at the start of a journey to be able to try and replicate. he’s valued at £10m with 3 years left on contract. I wonder for Brighton to get so cheap they just timed it nicely and he had a release cause that was set for £7m before he had started getting all the accolades. I guess they’ll have a recall option in case they have any injuries, they’re pretty light in that area.

Only goalies can have a recall option. I think.

He actually scored 16 of his 20 League/Europa League goals from the right wing (28 appearances), and 4 from 9 as a striker. Impressively 8 assists on top of his 20 goals also......

Gives us an option to play with a front 3 with him and Campbell either side of a main striker potentially? that's when we aren't playing the back 3/5.

Yep yep 👍 but might be a recall in Jan option though rather than a whole season jobby, guess pretty much all loans would have that clause anyways.

I don’t claim to know for definite mate but I thought it changed a couple of years ago to whole season loans. Like I say they can be terminated in January with the agreement of both clubs and the player. Obviously any loans in Jan are for half a season 😉 I think they did it to protect the loaning team who could be left high and dry with no chance of getting a replacement by a mid term recall by the parent club.

Judging by the reviews he's getting, and the teams apparently interested, you'd have to assume that his signing would catapult us up towards promotion favourites. This is a signing that sounds like it'd give me a bone on in the PL, let alone the Championship.

I think the general way it goes with youngsters though is that it’s a given they’ll be a recall option as it’s the interest of all parties. Parent club and player if wrongly not getting any game time/correct development and in case of injuries you see it often, where the parent club has the better resources for rehabilitation. Seems for the higher profile loans, ya Zoumas / Jese’s etc where there’s a feee involved too that the recall options isn’t in place (there’s a loan fee involved so wouldn’t be fair anyways) I’m no authority myself, just my interpretation from what seems to go down.

Recall is not allowed between windows for outfield players According to EFL rules, it seem to suggest otherwise… The EFL will permit Clubs to amend standard loan agreements to include an early termination clause where this was omitted from the original agreement. 55.1.2 any recall clause requiring the early termination of a Standard Loan can only be included in a full Season Standard Loan and this can only be activated during the Winter Transfer Window; 55.1.3 any other early termination of a Standard Loan must be by way of a mutual agreement in writing (including by way of a recall clause within the Standard Loan Agreement) between the Transferor Club, the Transferee Club and the Player but can only be completed: www.efl.com/-more/governance/efl-rules--regulations/section-6---players/

Still waiting for any links to Stoke from journalists though. Hopefully they'll emerge soon. Knowing our luck, it'll be somewhere like Osasuna or Levante. As a side not is it me or is that Connolly fella at Brighton very very fortunate to be a Premier League footballer........ He has destroyed a few defences in the Prem with his pace but has this annoying habit of chucking himself on the deck when in the box.

And to think we once were🙄 Could all change very quickly Always enjoy watching Brighton but they really are a bit rubbish in front of goal. The amount of games they play so well in and lose due to not taking chances.

Dunno if he knows anything, but he's followed by some English journalists? Abdallah Sima (20) should leave for a minor league loan after the transfer is @slaviaofficial @officialbhafc stokecity closed. Minor league 😥

I hope this lad turns out well for us.
Saturday showed we are desperately short up front if we can’t get Tyrese back up to speed this season.

On an unrelated note, how ace is that Prague strip? Who'd shell out for something similar if it a had a Stoke badge on as a season one-off?

I'm going to be incredibly dull and point out that it takes young players moving to a foreign country a good while to settle in and get up to speed. We didn't see the best of Arnie until the back end of his first season with us, and he came in with much greater pedigree.
