Maybe I’m perceiving it wrong but it looks like Imbula has put a post on his Instagram story supporting Mendy? When was this? He only has one post on his Insta feed from months ago

If found guilty of more than one could that be a life sentence?? What would the minimum tariff be? www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk/offences/crown-court/item/rape/This website, though I only had a quick scan, suggests 4 years minimum for one case and life for any more thereafter. Not sure if that’s life if you commit after serving time for rape or just for more than one case. I’m also unsure if there’s different standards of rape, as awful as that sounds.

He only has one post on his Insta feed from months ago I thought that too when i looked. It's on his story though, so you have to press on his profile pic to see it. It's a pic of Mendy with some strong arm emojis on it. P.s. Many thanks to my teenage daughter (if she's reading), without whom this post would not have been possible.

On the breaking news update that just came through on my phone, the picture accompanying the headline, inexplicably, was of the Chelsea goalkeeper. Who wrote the story, Andre Marriner?

Wonder if he’s been placed with other inmates? If so, they’ll have made the millionaire new boy on the block very welcome indeed!

This probably explains it.... Innocent until proven guilty, but fucking hell. If I was out on bail for four charges of rape, or sexual offences, I wouldn't even look at a woman until Id had my day in court, let alone put myself in a position where I'm alone with one. I'd move to fucking monastery or something. Rapists don’t think or behave like regular folks.

I've never understood this kind of incident a man of considerable financial means could have paid a few quid to satisfy his desires instead chose to subject women to the most heinous attacks.

Not talking of this particular case as due legal process to go through .. and don’t know any of the details But , surely many serial rapists aren’t just assaulting to get their leg over in a purely basic relief context , but exerting far more concerning traits wanting to show power , dominance and control or to instil fear .. and it’s that sense of entitlement and power or you can’t say no to me attitude / trait that is the concern as much as the act ..and of particular concern to the safety of the wider community .. surely you also recognise that many people involved in prostitution ( I presume that’s what you meant ) are also coerced , or forced into that by circumstance or partners , often in fear of violence if they say no

Yes lots of young men and women are coerced into a life of sex work so there should be an argument to legalise sex workers to allow them to come out of the shadows into the light where they can be protected.

Whilst some people get into the sex industry for a variety of reasons , if you think by tagging on the term ‘ Escort’ that removes any idea that Escort is an industry code that they’re ALL free from coercion ..and the term somehow therefore frees the client from any feeling of guilt and indeed will know those that are and those haven’t been coerced or trafficked then we’ll have to agree to disagree I agree the sex industry is a complicated subject ..but I’d suggest the serial rapist as opposed to someone seeking to act out a fantasy with a consenting other , wouldn’t get the sense of control they seek with a partner or if they ‘hired’ a prostitute ( Escort ) and bottom line knew it was an agreed act rather than not id suggest it’s the controlling nature they seek ..not to hand over that control to a partner or escort

Your interpretation is way off the mark but feel free to disagree with something I've not said.

Your interpretation is way off the mark but feel free to disagree with something I've not said All I was suggesting is a possible answer to your post posing the question , that someone with money can’t if need be seek to fulfil their desires in other ways .. but if those desires are none consensual sex or an illegal act .then by definition any consensual arrangement paid or otherwise wouldn’t be what they seek and at best be consensual play .. And merely pointed out that your solution of he went and paid to fulfil his desires in another way instead wasn’t a victimless solution either Bit like saying I don’t know why someone who desires chocolate can’t satisfy those desires by eating baked beans ..it’s chocolate they desire and get off on not baked beans Surely you can follow that ( said and meant in a friendly way ) .
