I mean, it’s a bit shit. But considering the state of the club when the owners picked it up you can’t deny they’re making a decent fist if it.

It really doesn’t put us to shame at all No, it doesn't. But they are trying to make the match day experience better and all credit to them for that. We haven't even managed to get queuing for food and drink organised in the concourses. And we have about half as many bogs as a full stadium needs. Basically in the Boothen you can go to the bog OR buy a snack and a drink at half time - you can't do both without missing some game time. We don't exactly go out of our way to make fans' lives easier on matchday. The proverb "don't spoil the ship for a haporth of tar" was never truer than Stoke on a match day.

It isn’t our culture mate and people will get bored of it We don’t have the climate either as apart from August till October people won’t stand outside having a beer in the bitter cold or pissing down with rain/sleet/snow It’d be a novelty that would soon lose its appeal

I can’t deny, sitting at a picnic bench on a car park really does make me want to fuck off up there.

Does it fuck. Have you looked at the photos It's a few pub benches/tables and a load of portaloos, I bet they can't wait sit out there in winter What is the obsession with these frigging "Fan Zones"? The pub is the only fan zone we need.

The pub is the only fan zone we need. A lot of fans don’t go to pubs pre match as they are so far away. German clubs lead the way in that there are numerous beer/ food outlets all around the stadium making for a much better experience. For example I have been to schalke- like us the ground is out of town. As such , all around the circumference of the stadium, there are bars and food outlets and activities going on for kids etc. Fans are free to move all around the stadium. This leads to a much better atmosphere and lends well to not needed if you race from a pub pre match. Many fans who attend stoke have to park in and around the ground and , as such, some effort to make the area in and around the ground somewhere people want to spend time ( and money from clubs point of view).

Living in the Lake District as I do, many of the pubs in the rural areas and a few in town, have beer gardens. They get well patronised by locals and visitors alike in all but the depths of winter - and all manner of shelters and gazebos are provided for when it rains plus fire pits and outdoor heaters for chilly evenings. I think you have led a very sheltered life Werrers!

My mate is from the unwashed. He drinks in Burslem. He said it was right outside the club shop encouraged people to go in the shop due to location. Had bar, burgers, chips and penalty shoot outs with the mascot thing for kids. It wouldn't be his bag, nor mine if we did one but it's a source of income for them and obviously trying to interact with the fanbase.
Not for me thanks but live and let live

It would work if it was housed in a massive undercover kinda tent with activities. But like said above we just don’t have the climate. Nor the amount of fans each week to make it work. Trying to compare it to Liverpool is. Well. Laughable

I don't see the obsession with trying to get a fanzone at the Brit.
Where would it go? The car park side outside the John Smith's is cold enough in August, let alone January.
Support your local pubs if you want a drink.

Fair play to them for at least showing some initiative, at least we have the atmospheric shithole which is Delilah's.

As for initiative it looks like a cheap gazebo from B&Q or similar and a couple of knock off picnic tables, hardly ground breaking innovation is it? If that's the best anyone can come up with why bother in the first place? This isn't aimed specifically at PVFC but fanzones in general, I'm afraid I just don't get them, I really don't get the attraction of them. However, each to their own, if that's what blows your frock up on a match day then fair enough but it's a no from me.

Taking more money from already struggling pubs, a lot of pubs in and around Burslem probably depend on match day to get decent takings, especially after the last 18 months, all part of match day for me to frequent a few pubs before and after the game, i wouldnt be standing in a car park on a main road drinking cans of carling poured into plastic cups. Fan zones are a no from me.

shove these fan zones and the hard ons some people have with them up your arses
cant imagine anything worse than screaming kids running round and some bit part failed reality star trying to create an atmosphere, they were not needed for the last 150 years, they are not needed now....
