25 minutes off the bench for most matches? This seasons Sam Vokes? He might actually be quite effective in that role.

As long as he is a Stoke player I want him to do well, and trust the manager to select him if he thinks its the right call.
Like most on here I have been bitterly disappointed by what I have seen from Ince, on the pitch, which is where it really matters.
Maybe MON can work out what is wrong with him, and put it right?
If selected again for the first team he simply MUST perform

To Mince (verb) “To walk with short quick steps in an affectedly dainty manner.“
One of the most frustrating players I’ve seen at Stoke. Clearly has something. Can never seem to be bothered to use it.

I ran out of patience with Ince a while ago. He has talent, no question about that, but he seems to lack heart- he hides when things aren't going his way, doesn't show for the ball, in general just doesn't put it in when it really counts.
We have these false dawns with him all the time: he'll have a decent game and do things with the ball that others can't, and everyone gets excited about him again. Give it a couple of matches and he'll have a game where he touches the ball about 5 times in 90 minutes and you wonder where the hell he is.

I think he just wilts under pressure.
Not an excuse but a reality. He seems to completely go to pieces under any sort of pressure.

This is definitely true and has to be acknowledged before anyone gets too excited (not that that's happening in this thread). However, I would still like to think there's enough about him to be a decent squad player? I thought he was actually OK if not amazing the handful of times he played last season.

I'd play Smith at ring wing before Ince any time. At least Smith puts in decent crosses. Fleetwood was a showcase game. Why isn't Derby interested?

It's a mystery what his problem is. All the managers seem to have liked him and never criticised his professionalism at all. All the local press say he's a nice guy and popular squad member. He's had no meaningful injuries until the one late last year at Luton, so physically he should be fine He didn't come across as a shy, retiring figure lacking self-confidence during his spells at Derby and Blackpool when he had one of the best records in the diviion....until, it seems, he showed up here? Hes a o e legged fanny really with no pace and who’s scared of getting tackled

Hes a o e legged fanny really with no pace and who’s scared of getting tackled Otherwise OK? Yep Other than he can’t tackle either and is generally very greedy Has all the skill set to be a good footballer even though he is one legged but unfortunately he doesn’t have one tenth of the aggression of his father which I think would help him Reminds me of sterling but not as good and he’s not brilliant Runs down a lot of blind alleys loses the ball a lot doesn’t look up often enough dithers and doesn’t bring players into the game Poor decision makers and always wants to take someone else on instead of shooting or passing

I'd hate to see your critique of someone you don't rate! 😁

I misread the title as MON on Ice and assumed we'd gone extremely low effort on planning the Christmas celebrations this year.

Apart from wanting to take “someone on” that’s for me is what he doesn’t do. I thought when he came he’d be taking players on and whipping quality crosses in.. I’ve seen neither. As others have said I’ve lost patience in him, he’s had enough chances

He needs to work with a sports psychologist. His issues are in his head. If he can overcome whatever his mental blockers are, he’d be one of the best players in this division. I'm sure he has.

If we are waiting for Ince to have a decent season in a Stoke shirt, we need to get comfortable, it could be a long fecking wait.

Spot on mate and all for the princely sum of £27,000 a week = £1.4 million a year. Can't wait to see the back of this shyster!
