Heard a few people over the last couple of years praising this. Saw it for the first time last night. Lovely bit of TV-two 50 year old blokes just whiling away the hours talking about life;the fishing was almost incidental.

I've watched every episode - really enjoyable programme with two blokes just spending time in the outdoors and having a great time doing it. It's always good watching Bob Mortimer's attempts at fishing, and also his culinary achievements when he prepares the "healthy" meal.

Fishing bores me rigid, it's just not my thing. This programme however I could watch all day, as above I love Bob Mortimer in pretty much anything.
Spoke to him at a Middlesbrough v Stoke game in the pub once, a more down to earth and pleasant guy you couldn't wish to meet.......

"There you go Paul - hes your meat bag" Cracked me up for some reason that did. Looked proper rank n all !

The ending of the Christmas episode was the best TV moment last Christmas. I could watch Bob Mortimer in anything to be honest. He’s fantastic in Taskmaster too. He's the absolute highlight whenever he's on Would I Lie to You? too.

Couldn't be arsed to start a new thread so thought I'd drop this in here...
Caught a couple of episodes of "Walking with...." over the last few weeks. Last one was Jim Moir (Vic Reeves) walking the Kent coast to Dungeness. Just him and a hand held camera with beautiful scenery, stopping to chat to a few people on the way and his usual slightly offbeat musings on life.
Really enjoyable relaxing tv in the same vein as the Gone Fishing programme. Recommended. Like Gone Fishing you feel better for having watched it!

This sort of TV is definately the way forwards.
That’s why i enjoy watching YouTube so much because there’s rarely a political agenda if you find the right ones. There’s some cracking food reviews. These being my favourites
It’s great hearing non scripted conversation alongside some really interesting content.

There was one with a 'celeb' vicar (never heard of her) walking through the Peak district and Alastair Campbell walking through Yorkshire, that was a good one, amazing scenery and waterfalls. I think the people they 'bump into' are sometimes contrived to be there, but it's good nonetheless. For anyone interested... www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001111l

Went to watch the Fools and Horses show in London the other night, bit of a slow burner but the second half pulled it through. Paul Whitehouse plays both Grandad and Uncle Albert and was excellent.
