Can't believe I had to dig down to page 4 for this thread. Having seen him for the first time yesterday, he is going to become a fans favourite very quickly. Excellent control, pace, passing but most of all when he loses the ball, his determination to put it right was top drawer. Yes he got caught over the top a time or two, something he needs to work on. He should be first choice along with a n other until Harry gets back. For those old enough to compare - think Larus Siggurdson.

He looked rusty to me against Linfield but I was impressed by him yesterday, looks a very good signing.

He certainly looks to have the tools to be a top player. As you mentioned he did get caught out a couple of times yesterday by the ball over the top. He’s also going to drop the odd bollock trying to play out from the back so we’ll need to show some patience with him.

Certainly looked like a proper footballer. We;ll see how good a defender he is as we go, but encouraging.
Do we think the back 3 will be Wilmot on the right, Souttar in the middle and Fox on the left?

I thought Wilmot looked more comfortable playing on the right than he did on the left after Chester came on.

Still get the feeling Chester will worm his way into the left side and Fox will only play because of injury or changing to a back four

I can't believe we have actually signed such good players as him and Vrancic. We just need a striker in with some idea where the goalposts are.

Had him on the back of my shirt when I was a child. I loved him! Hard to know what Wilmot will be like from friendlies. Let’s give him a season to figure it out.

Agree with loads of that but Larus was poor on the ball unlike Wilmot Now the memory isn’t the same as it was but Sigurdson played alongside Sandford and Blake??? Sigurdson became a better player having a more robust CH alongside

If he'd been good on the ball too he would have been a Premier League defender When he went to Albion they played him in midfield and he got player of the season.

Fox on the bench for in case he wants to switch to a back 4 if we need to change things around.

It's a shame we lost both Overson and Cranson to injury in quick succession. I always felt Larus would've benefited from playing alongside either of them for a little while longer. Instead he ended up becoming the senior centre half at a young age and we never found a settled partner to go alongside him (Whittle, Tweed, Woods, Robinson etc.) The way Wilmot carried the ball forward on Saturday reminded me a bit of John Halls (although it could just be the long blonde hair!)

Unlike John Halls he doesn't position himself like an 8 year old

That's where he played for Watford I think, whenever they used a back three.
