Not to forget all the snowflakes who complain about the term 'Gammon'! Bloody woke people everywhere! I heard a guy moaning about homeless military veterans the other day! Bloody woke sod! Huffing and puffing again, lighten up. Why so defensive all the time? I bet your kids think you're a right blast. I'd put money on it they don't

Me too to be fair mate. It's a great name for a park though, and what makes it even greater is that it is still called that these days

Take me to the magic of the moment On a glory night Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams....

Why is it called Chinky Park?
And is that not just a little bit racist?
Or am I the racist one in thinking that? Who even knows anymore.

Our local primary school have apparently had to change this weeks ‘Crazy hair day’ as some knobstick complained that the word ‘Crazy’ was offensive to people struggling with mental health. My boys junior school have started an after school club called spice club im absolutely fucking livid

It’s just a name of a park Every name has an origin. Strange though, another word that has been around for years and seen as inoffensive then one day someone says oi you can't say that any more and folk now get all offended if you use it. Chinese and other Asian countries has names for Westeners . Was your parents getting Chinkie take away as a kid them being horrible racists or just using a common term? Are those using the term jock on the England v Scotland thread being equallyhorrible racists? Does anyone know any more?

I'm not particularly offended by it, it just seems odd to me that you'd continue to want to use a word that has been broadly considered for about 20-30 years now to be both derogatory and carry racial connotations. Unfortunately though, many people in Stoke seem to want and expect the world to stay as it was in the 1960s-1970s.

Done a good job looks wise, the City looks like a relic from then but not sure is a bad thing in other cases rather than getting offended by every other term and non gender shite etc that is creeping into society. Trying to find things to get offended by seems to be the aim of some and destroying history that they can find any fault with from a different era.

I am a Kidsgover and have been for around 40 years of my 51, we've always called it chinky park and the only reason I can think is that many years ago it had chinese swings, the ones where two people sit opposite each other and push against one and other, the track has been in use for the past 2 weeks unofficially but was officially opened on Friday. Not sure about racist but even the local council refer to it as chinky park.

Drive through Normacot today and on the side back window of a bmw was a Palestine flag with free Palestine underneath I said to the guy who was driving that’s knocked a grand off you’re car now which he just laughed , no racism meant it was joke , ppl can’t joke no more

Oh dear the first casualty making the headline story in our local shit rag there will be calls for it to be shut down shortly on health & safety grounds and compo claims going in. They've already been there pal. The day after they ran the story about it opening that shitrag published a story about local youths littering on it. And now there's today's article about the young lad injuring himself. Next week they'll run a completely fabricated story about strange men hanging around the BMX track and trying to abduct kids (heavily inferring that the mythical perpetrators are Eastern European) and then that will finally be followed up with a string of articles featuring glum looking parents calling for it to be closed down and demanding a payout from the council after little Johnny hurt himself using the facility. It's almost as if the narrative/story arc has been pre-determined and the publication will find a way to make it pan out like that even if it means haranguing and cajoling the public into agreeing to have their complaints featured in that 'newspaper', because y'know, clicks are all that matters and fuck the consequences of our actions. Fucking scum paper.
