The inquiry is set in stages, the first stage dealt with the night of the fire and what happened, the fire department weren't blamed, the mistakes they made in the face of an unprecedented fire were highlighted and recommendations were made. The current stage is looking at the people who put the cladding up, approved the work, checked the cladding etc its safe to say these people wont be getting lollipops..... Why lie about the cladding though it is widely accepted it was put on for energy efficiency reasons not your BS claims and a Labour MP was on the management committee that approved this and praised it.

Not forgetting that the cladding manufacturer in France falsified the fire safety of the cladding and the original fridge was faulty but what I think essex was trying to say is that he doesn't like Boris Johnson.

And he’d be on here defending the policy too

Worth, I think, bringing this thread back to life with the news that more owners of flats that need recladfing won’t have to stump up the costs themselves (and quite right to)… Cladding: More flat owners to be freed from billsI note that the Gvt is looking for industry to cover the cost but is prepared to take on any shortfall (meaning, of course, you and me as tax payers). What I’d like to see is criminal charges and fines for those companies that broke, twisted, manipulated building regulations to install dangerous products onto buildings. I appreciate that the inquiry is still progressing, and I’m relaxed about the time it is taking. So long as when it reaches its conclusions there are serious implications for the people responsible for the cladding scandal.

This piece is worth a read… The state failures that led to the Grenfell Tower fireIt finds knowledge of the dangers in the use of flammable cladding on high rise buildings can be traced back to a fire in 1991. That fire was followed by a series of other fires, all of which were effectively ignored by the authorities. Pretty disconcerting.

And a resounding yes to your two questions

Next time I want an assessment on British society from someone who isn’t from Britain, doesn’t live in Britain, and doesn’t know the first thing about Britain, I’ll be sure to ask

Rather the opinion of some cunt with their thumb in a dyke than that And I bet your mother wished she’d drowned you in a bucket at birth ! 😂 Is this really the best you can come up with? You sound like you’ve spent too much time in those coffee shops, dulling your mind fella. Maybe booze too. Maybe lack of exercise. Personal issues. Only you know. But it comes across in your posting. Try not to take it so personally. I’ve been there and I understand. It’s the easiest slope to slide down mate. Have a good wash, get out the house, get some exercise. Bin those worn old trackies and shut the laptop down for a bit. Stay hydrated. You’ll feel better. Good luck with it all

The way you post and patronizing tones don’t come across well I’m afraid. These italics you use - I really don’t see the point of them but hey if you think it benefits your posts then fair enough. I just wish your carer would advise you better that’s all. I’m hydrating right now with a Guiness thanks

It’s easy to get things mixed up in those sort of forums. On the other hand, the pomposity of the man is incredible. What a plank.
