Where the opening scene of Twin Town was filmed apparently.
Maybe it was an elaborate publicity stunt for the forthcoming sequel?

It won’t be the last. This is a generation created by a total lack of discipline where they have no accountability and where they feel a right of entitlement. Too late for this generation but things need to change or things will get worse.

Exactly same argument that has been trotted out since at least the 50's It wasn't really accurate then and it isn't now i think it’s more relevant than ever and the issues are worse than ever now. You can go back to the “when I was a lad” type of statements but I just don’t remember things as bad in relation to the level of behaviour but it feels like none of the key agency’s have any effect any more whether it’s School or Police because they have to be so tolerant and passive. It doesn’t help either that that there’s no filter on what kids learn.

Maybe it’s just there’s more exposure to it now. I’d love to see some figures.

NYC famously had a zero tolerance clean up. I felt as safe there as I've felt anywhere. Safer than plenty. BUT there was the Mets fan telling me it's dangerous and nobody can walk down the street. It's just what people say. Wherever you go. Same same same.

One minute they're being accused of being avocado-eating ultra-woke fannies who shun getting pissed, doing drugs, shagging and 'proper' music, the next they're all lazy fat bastards who never do any exercise and love nothing more than sitting on their fat arses shovelling junk food down their gullets whilst playing video games online. This week, they're all feral thugs with no respect for others or the law and who need a good birching. Anyone would think that this messageboard is populated mainly by middle-aged blokes who love whinging their crinkly grey knackersacks off about anything and everything? 🤷

That said I do think Cobham has a point. And for me all roads point to over exposure on social media. More than ever kids nowadays know how to play the system to their advantage. 30 years ago for example 98% of kids were scared stiff of the rozzers and would do anything to avoid them. Nowadays they watch YouTube videos that show you exactly how rude and obstructive you can be to the police whilst technically staying within the law. Loads of great kids nowadays just as there were in the past of course but there is definitely a growing percentage of entitled trouble making shysters. And important to note, I can't just blame the kids. The blame of course lies mostly with the "crinkly grey knackers brigade" who have sired said kids and not done a very good job of raising them.

Every generation blames the perceived ills of the age for corrupting 'the youngsters'. Today it's YouTube and social media that the fingers are being pointed at. In the 80s it was 'video nasties'. In the 70s it was punk etc, and before that it was probably the invention of the harpsichord or whatever. Of course, all of the above is bollocks and it mainly comes down to influencing factors in society itself (inequality, economic hardships, lack of opportunity, breakdown of the traditional family unit etc) but the constant factor throughout is parenting. Shit parents generally equals shit kids.
