Very much so, but family and commitments have seen me having to drive more sensible cars in recent years. However, after getting better than expected returns on savings and investments and some other windfalls, I’m now in a position to indulge my self again. I want something a bit different and am intentionally avoiding the usual German brands as they are all the same and a little dull. I had been considering something hybrid or electric, but then thought maybe in the future.
So at the moment I’m looking at a Jag F type…..it’s going to be tight with my budget, but I think it’s the best looking car on the road, makes lots of noise and is seriously quick.
My other option is to go retro and I’d love to get one of the last 2.8i Capris, but serious money is needed.

I had the Capri 3.0 Ghia and a XR3i but wouldn’t entertain going back to that sort of motoring, to much hard work.
I was 99% having a M2 Competition a few weeks ago but head over heart and had a M235i GC an absolutely awesome piece of kit, spent the whole day getting it sparkling so I can keep it in the garage 👍
Sure my wife’s cousin still has his Capri RS301, that must be worth a fair penny now.

Massively, JDM for me.
I’ve got a Nissan Silvia S15 that’s gaining value quicker than I can put miles on the fucking thing, absolutely love it though it’s a childhood dream.
I want something retro as a daily as well, I wanted a Nova because I have a weird obsession with them but they’re getting silly money now like anything from that era and I don’t even like leaving my shitty runaround Corsa anywhere around here let alone anything of actual value.

My Dad had a Citroën DS late 70's and it was just brilliant to drive although on a quiet summers day you could hear it rusting. Having said that a pristine Safari version would be one I'd jump at but living as close as I am to the sea here in Wales it'd disintegrate over a weekend.

Went to change my leased 116 bmw a couple of years back and ended up coming out with a pre reg (best deal ever, usual sales patter BS!!)335d. Now I've never really had a fast car so didn't really know what they are all about but jeepers it does shift a bit when you put your toe down. I of course drive it very sensibly and I always wave when someone lets me through!

79 MGB V8
Merc SLK 350 and a Mazda suv as the wife’s daily driver.
The Merc is about to become a Mustang GT and the B could go to the right person at the right price.

I've got a thing for V8 convertibles - Currently have a jaguar XKR, and a 2002 Lexus sc430 - which needs some tlc and selling, as no time to drive two.

My first car was a Mk2 Escort which was by then already a classic car. Ive also had a Mk1 Fiesta and Mk1 Escort (by then 30 years old) Twice ive had an original 1990s Mini Cooper 1275 GT, once as my main car, once as a bit of fun, sold it three years ago
Looking to get an MG Midget as a second car for dry days, been to see a few this week. Around the £5k mark.
anyone with a Midget/Roadster/ MGBGT who has tips, feel free to share
Not that mechanically minded, just like the look, feel and drive of 70s British Motors

Loved the 3.0 Capris, so much fun, bought and sold a few but never had one as my main car. You could pick them up for peanuts in the 2000s but they have shot up in value now. So much power though

The exhaust sound was immense on the 3.0 Capris pity every time you’d lose the back end on a bend in the wet.
I was just about to purchase a RS2000 many years ago but the wife’s cousin who came along with me noted it was the wrong colour for the year, so opted for a Peugeot 205 GTI 1.6 cracking car and amazing handling.

All the bits are available again. Get a Moss Catalog. One one note, have you driven one to test drive. They are smaller than you remember.
