The promotion game at Notts County - I was there but I couldn’t see a thing ! Pissed? I wish - a combination of getting there late, being stuck right at the back of that big terrace and not being very tall. Saved the drinking for later 🙂

FA Cup 6th Round Replay against the shit................won 2-1 in extra time, TC with the winner. Over 49,000 in the Victoria Ground 22 March 72, just after we'd won the League Cup. Was lucky to get into the ground most turnstiles were closed and this was like 7:00pm, a good 1/2 hour before kick off. Managed to get into the Butler street Paddock with my Dad (I was 13)....just, they closed the door almost 2 or 3 after us. Never seen so many in the ground, it was special, great atmosphere.....crushed, but safe if you know what I mean. There were thousands locked out that night, remember seeing cars just abandoned everywhere, around Fletcher Road, Biltons Car Park by Uncle Tom's Cabin. Bobby Carlton, George Best.........you're boys took one hell of a beating.

One nil win at notts county to seal promotion for Alan Durban's side . They really were a team , everyone in it together , despite the fact a couple of the players were different class to everyone in the entire league , never mind the Stoke side

Hull v stoke Quarter final of FA cup March 1971 linkI was at that game. Seems like yesterday. If waggy had scored a third just before half-time we might have held on. Chris Chilton passed away today. A fantastic player and a gentleman. A true legend at Hull City

A true legend at Hull City I was at the game too and if it were played today Dennis Smith would have been sent off for man handling Wagstaffe in the first half when going clean through. It truly was a great game. I don't know how todays players might have reacted to the heavy ground.

I was too young for the return of Stanley Matthews but I bet it was one hell of an atmosphere if his testimonial is anything to go by I could happily sit through the FA Cup semi v Bolton again maybe I wouldn't be so nervous on the concourse at half time, after all, we were ONLY 3 up

Has to be the 3.2 win over Leeds in 73/74 season. Stopped their unbeaten run and the boothen was mental that day. They smashed the away changing room up in a typical Leeds way!!!

Beating Man City 2-0 with BMX in their pomp. 10 years before that we were still plodding away in the Championship, with a game like that the stuff of fantasy, so hopefully we might see a similar team and win in ten years time? Okay, maybe not...... .
