My first FA Cup memory was listening to a game whilst I played football in my backyard.
I wasn't interested overly in watching football when I was young but we had a big garden and I was belting a ball into the net listening to Man United play as it blared from a neighbours tv/radio. It was either a semi or a final and Hughes scored a couple I think. And I'm presuming it was Man Yoo because it was Hughes and it was like 93-95 I think.
Watching one, were Everton in one in the 90's? That one.

Crap game I think it was Rideout now you've mentioned his name! And then was the final with Liverpool and their daft suits the year after?

Yeah I remember the Cantona goal, sweet strike from the edge of the box wasn't it.
Euro 96 was the first time I really watched and enjoyed football as a spectator sport tbh. I would have been 9.

Didn't he go broke not so long back? Was a naff game as the built up ones between the big teams often were. i quite liked the suits bit I did like our pinstripe kit also

radio.
Watched on the radio.
For younger watchers, close your eyes and listen to our Nige on the tranny, before the word tranny was deemed dodgy.

You don't get the banners in the crowd these days. Is that a health and safety thing?

I can vaguely remember the 1964 West Ham v Preston final but the first one that registered as a big deal was the 1967 Spurs v Chelsea. Friday dinner time there was a massive Chelsea v Spurs British Bulldog in the school playground. No idea who won, but it was absolute chaos. At the time St Gregory's had infants, juniors and seniors all at the same school and all these kids of different sizes charging at each other across the playground must have scared the teachers half to death. On the Saturday I went round to my mate Mark's house, his Mum made us dinner, then I watched the match with him and his Dad and then went out into the street to replay the game ourselves. I miss the days when you could play football in the street without having to worry about cars. (Grumpy Old Git time!! )

Best picture of that incident isn’t the chase ..But of Labone , Everton’s centre half squaring up to him ..Labone sadly died aged just 66 .. his most famous quote was ‘One Evertonian is worth twenty Liverpudlians"

I vaguely remember watching the build-up, and some of the game, to the 1965 final – Liverpool v Leeds. I was young, and though I loved playing football in the street and at school, I didn’t support or follow a team at the time. Two years later I was at Wembley, watching Spurs v Chelsea.

1973 Leeds v Sunderland then never missed one until probably the 1990s through work commitments.
The last one I probably watched in its entirety was Arsenal v Hull.
Since 2010 I've barely seen any of them..though there was one in 2011 I seem to recall I saw 🤚
