Back to bare bones on Friday it looks! With all the injured players out will we be lining up like this? ...........................Davies........................... Smith............Batth..............Chester............RND ...........................Mikel............................ ................Powelll..............Thompson............... Norton....................Fletcher..................McClean Subs: Bursik, Coates, Taylor?, Cousins?, Tymon, Brown, Vokes. Any others able to play? He can't play McClean surely after being so publically angry with ROI? Just invalidates his point completely. Think he'll go with Brown and Matondo either side of Fletcher. But may he want to punish Matondo for the Wales incident?

He didn't seem to conclusively rule out Clarke and Souttar - just said they weren't able to train yesterday.
But can maybe see Tymon playing if Clarke's out?....he doesn't seem to trust Matondo at all.
Either in the midfield 3 with Powell on the left. Or on the left with Powell behind Fletcher?
Davies Smith-Chester-Batth-RND Mikel-Thompson Brown-Powell-Tymon Fletcher
Subs: Gunn Coates Matondo Norton Vokes Malone MWP Varian Taylor
The bench is going to be very Academy-heavy if Clarke and Souttar aren't fit - if even Forrester is out!
Maybe Wright-Phillips and one of Macari or Taylor if Souttar doesn't make it?

We know what Tymon can and can't do. There's no way he should be playing anywhere other than in a 3 man midfield now. Shame Vokes is still in that tbh

Probably Tymon in midfield and Powell on the left would be favourite. As you say, nothing really to be gained by going down the Tymon-left wing route again.

Possibly but they were talking him up, it's a cheap deal and it sounded like it can be extended for next season. We haven't really given him a chance either to be judged on.

Tomorrow will be the acid test on that. If MON doesn't trust him to start in a dead rubber game in an injury crisis, there doesn't seem any prospect of us loaning him again next year as a development project, however cheap he'd be.

Maybe then, I didn't listen to it tbh. But just seen that he's whinging about him playing. Which is fair enough. If it is McClean being a dick hopefully that's the final nail in his Stoke coffin and we get rid.

Regardless of whether MON was primarily unhappy with McClean or Stephen Kenny, would we want to start him tomorrow though?
Always possible - but having made a fuss of wanting to manage his foot condition, would we want to give him another start tomorrow after he played pretty much a full game in midweek?
I don't think he any longer views McClean as a key enough player to play him tomorrow in this situation

There's no law that says you can't put five goalies on the bench, and, if they wear regular shirts and not goalies' they can all come on as subs. No panic.

George Andrews “ are you going to rotate over the 2 games” 🙄🤣If only O’Neill could say what he really thinks to the thick Vale tosser Absolutely bizarre line of questioning from George. Having heard that we’ve got ten players out injured literally five minutes earlier, why on earth would he then ask MON if he plans to rotate the squad? And then an even more baffling question praising the potency of our attackers? When’s the last time we scored a goal away from home?

A quick Google search shows me it's currently playing Common People by Pulp, which in fairness automatically makes it better than Radio Stoke or Signal already.......

It’s pretty good music wise in comparison to the other stations locally. Be good if they could pull together a good Saturday afternoon sports show, without George “in more ways than one” Andrews though.
