Well, let's throw Hamilton in a Haas and see how he does... Probably a lot better than the Haas drivers now. Obviously he’s in a top tier car but he’s there because he can wring those extra milliseconds out of it. No argument, but funding > Hamilton. I'm guessing George Russell will do much much better next season for some reason or other...

I'm guessing George Russell will do much much better next season for some reason or other... It’s obvious he will and probably if he handles the pressure and the extra power and obstacles in the merc he will challenge for a world title. Hamilton in his entire career in f1 hasn’t finished below fifth in the championships 7 wins two runners up 3 fourth and 2 fifth places. The top teams still want him because he still has the edge despite his success. Do I think vestappen or Russell will be as consistent? I’m not sure verstappen should win a title or two but he’s driving in the edge every race which will take its toll over time

Hamiltons ability, coupled with a good car, the tweaks he asks for and changes he makes on the fly in practice/quali make him the best driver He didnt have the best car when he won the WC at Mclaren On a different note...that dashcam coverage from Maxs car is fairly damning - he makes no attempt to make that apex on the corner until he has ran Hambo off the road then locks the wheel to turn.... Its only Hamiltons skill/awareness to avoid Max that stops a crash, unlike Max at Silverstone where he made no attempt to go round the outside and instead clipped Lewis and ended up in the wall - Horner was almost calling for Lewis arrest after that I remember, never mind 'let them race' Merc have put an appeal in this afternoon

It's pretty clear that having a well funded race team is seems slightly more important (maybe only to me) than having a brilliant driver.

Mercedes were a long way off being the fastest team when Hamilton joined them. Hamilton has helped develop their cars to make them faster. The Mercedes hasn't been the fastest car every season since his first title with Mercedes either. Both Ferrari and Red Bull should have beaten Mercedes in at least one season each. I agree that the car is more important than the driver over a whole season, but the best drivers pull it out of the bag when all odds are against them. Which Hamilton does repeatedly. His win at the weekend reminded me of a Senna or Mansell performance back in the day. He had no right to make it look so easy either!

Can't see anything exciting happening in this race today. So far it's snooze-ville. The regular Bundesliga leaders ...

Can't see anything exciting happening in this race today. So far it's snooze-ville. The regular Bundesliga leaders ... It was better than I expected, but my expectations were very low. Yet another new dull track. I think the next track in Saudi. On another note I've heard that the Merc rear wing has passed the new more rigorous weight test. If true, I'm looking forward to hearing Horner squirm his way through that one.

Surely, there is a track designer out there like the game of golf has course designers. I can't offer too much as I'm new to this sport so most of what I would say will be out of ignorance. It seems that this year has been more exciting than most based on others comments, but if it turns out most races will be like the last, then I may be a short-lived fan. Hope not, I'm really enjoying learning about the technology and strategies...much more involved than I had originally believed.

Hermann Tilke is the designer responsible for most modern F1 circuits, and most of them are snoozefests. Off the top of my head, I can only think of the Turkey track as being a good one, although Sepang (Malaysia) also comes to mind as being decent. Tracks like Interlagos (Brazil) could not be designed as they are now, as they would not meet the safety standards required of a brand new track, so making exciting tracks is probably harder than we think.

Been a great season of racing finally a bit of competition for the championship.
Love the Saudi Arabian track, qualifying was brilliant shame Max didn't pull that last lap out the bag, wow. Can see it being real hard to overtake though.
Can see a Lewis Max 1 - 2 today taking it to the wire in the final race.
I hope Max wins overall 👍

Best outcome today would be for Lewis to finish first and Max third. That way there'd be about two points between them in the last race, a winner takes all scenario and Verstappen wouldn't be able to "do a Schumacher" and just take Hamilton out, as I suspect he might if he's ahead in the Championship going into the final race.

only short of blowjobing Hamilton ?? What are you talking about? I can only presume you're someone who a) doesn't watch F1 and doesn't know the rules or b) are just a teenage Verstappen fanboy or Hamilton "hater" who thinks those rules don't apply to Verstappen. He's a fantastic but reckless driver and has been criticised for several years by virtually everyone in the sport at some point becauae of it. He needs to grow up or at some point he's going to do someone some very serious damage Funny how Red Bull are whinging their bollocks off now and you're more than happy with it. Go back to kissing your Verstappen poster goodnight when you go to bed and let people who actually know the rules e.g. Brundle carry on. You genuinely sound like a 12 year old.

Wow, that's a lot of projection there... Not at all. I just fail to see why anyone would slag off someone who's been involved in the sport for decades simply because they actually know the rules of the sport. It's puerile and pathetic.. although i should have remembered that you trawling threads to try to find things that aren't there so you can make comments like that is just something you're well known for. Disappointing but not expected i suppose
