7. Played well, but I said at the time that Fletchers miss would bite us in the arse and it did. Absolutely shocking decision for the penalty. Aside from the “foul” itself, why were we even still playing? It was 22 seconds after the four minutes injury time? I’m now firmly on board with the Allen/Mikel nonsense. Allen in particular was dreadful tonight. People go on about frailties up front, but it was like watching a couple of geriatrics in the midfield. Root and branch change required, starting with Cousins who despite being limited, has the advantage of being able to fucking run. One runs around like an headless chicken not really doing anything and the other trots about doing nothing ,straight away cousins makes us more steady as he actually does a job Even Keith Andrews made the point in the sky studio about the midfield. It's a difficult one. On the one hand we had the best efforts on goal before we were cheated and robbed.
On the other hand, the formation cost us again. Nobody in our right back position when their guy centered for their first goal.
