29 points from the last 13 matches would take us to 74 points, the average required for the final play-off slot.
Of course half the time 74 points won't be enough since it is only the average for the 6th play off slot.
There are not many ways to get there. One of these would do it...
8 wins 5 draws 0 losses (29 points) 9 wins 2 draws 2 losses (29 points) 10 wins 3 losses 0 draws (30 points)
We'd basically have to kick our habit of drawing and losing matches all the time!
You wouldn't bet your house on it would you?

As a team we can barely string two passes together let alone 2 wins... Its a no from me! Well, we did get two wins only two week ago... Of course we can still make the playoffs, but on current form it's unlikely. It would depend on the 6th place side not getting away from the pack and Stoke amassing on average, 10 points every 5 games. We're on course to average 6 or 7 every five games which will leave us somewhere in the low to mid sixties. This wont be enough, even if the 6th placed side stays with the pack.

Apart from the two wins in the last 4 games you mean? OK let's wait and see! I doubt we'll get into the play-offs either! But to say we cant string two wins together is a bit daft, what we can't do is string 3 wins together...

It would be a huge shock to me if we managed it. I don't expect us to. A top 10 finish would be a good job though, given the injuries to McClean, Clucas and Campbell this year. People mention that we shouldn't be a one trick team, but what would Brentford be without Toney right now? They'd still play nice football, but Ghodos has only got three goals this year, and Forss only has five.

Without injuries we'd have comfortably made it
Be tough and impossible to predict results in this league. Think we'll finish 8-10th which under the circumstances isn't bad at all

Yes, we can make the play-offs if we can put a strong winning run together.
I for one am hoping that we can do this...

If we were lucky enough to reach the play offs, the issue we then have, who would you want in the remaining 5 places to come up against to stand any chance of winning, the top teams are much better than how we are performing.

It's academic
Because if this team somehow got into the prem by the backdoor , they would be destroyed there
We are no where near ready to go up , so the best thing we can do between now and the end of the season is bring on a few youngsters to fight the fight, next year
If souttar could stay fit and improve 10 per cent , if Collins and Alfie doughty and Ty Campbell could somehow be match fit for the final game , if brown could have a run of games and somehow improve a lot , and get a few goals ...then that would be a dream come true
Going up this season by the back door would be a nightmare
Hopefully the team will be younger , quicker and smarter next year and we will go up deservedly .That would be a dream come true .

If we play every game from now on like we do in the first half of a match then replicate that in the second, then yes......but we won't,so no.

No, we can't. We're playing awful football which isn't being helped by moronic decision making, dropping your most in form midfielder for example.
We have nothing up front, we have nothing of note in the middle and have nothing good happening on the side lines, its another season wasted I'm affraid.
Sorry that should be transition season, expect another next season if nothing changes.

OK hear me out... We haven't been good enough at times, we 'may not be ready' & need a massive squad overhaul in the Summer, but every Stoke fan HAS to be dreaming of Premier League football again. I think we have a DREAM run into the last 7 games that could actually make us very much favourites to grab the last spot. Our final 7 games are: - Millwall (Home) - Birmingham (Away) - Preston (Home) - Coventry (Home) - Forest (Away) - QPR (Home) - Bournemouth (Away) Aside from Bournemouth on the final day, I think this is the 6 games that we will put our run together. The Sentinel reported the average 6th spot takes 74 points, although I don't think that will be required this year, getting 11 points from now until after the Bristol City game, could leave us with the run required to hit the elusive 74 point mark! Looking at the other clubs around us, that I think stand a chance of the Top 6, and their last 7 games and they include the following (highlighted tougher games) Cardiffs - Sheff Wednesdays (Away), Blackburn (Home), Reading (Away), Brentford (Away), Wycombe (Home), Birmingham (Away), Rotherham (Home) Bournemouth - Coventry (Home), Huddersfield (Away), Norwich (Away), Millwall (Away), Brentford (Home), Wycombe (Away), Stoke (Home)Barnsley - Luton (Away), Middlesborough (Home), Coventry (Away), Huddersfield (Away), Rotherham (Home), Preston (Away), Norwich (Home)Middlesborough - Watford (Home), Barnsley (Away), QPR (Home), Rotherham (Away), Sheff Weds (Home), Luton (Away), Wycombe (Home) Bristol City - Coventry (Away), Forest (Home), Sheff Weds (Away), Wycombe (Away), Luton (Home), Millwall (Away), Brentford (Home)I think apart from Bristol City & maybe Middlesborough, we've got one of the easier run ins to the end of the season. It's possible lads...keep dreaming!! You'd have to say no, but there's certainly enough winnable games there. Even if we aren't brilliant, we have tended to beat the teams below us, but you just feel we haven't got it in us to go on such a big run. We know we can go out and not lose, which is a bit of a positive if you wanted to spin it that way, but a run like that would only be possible with our strongest available squad, which we haven't got. Even against some of those in the last 7 games, you just can't see us winning 3 or 4 on the bounce, let alone 6 or 7. Who knows though? Ask me after tonight.
