He's turned the job down before apparently Celtic can't offer what he wants, Premier League football As for Newcastle can't see that either. When is last time a Premier League club appointed a manager from the Championship? Frank Lampard Carlos Carvahal however we can all see Lmapard got gthe job due to a very specific set of circumstances & his name Carvahal forgot he existed tbh none the less managers getting poached from the Championship it' unusual now isn't it I still can't see Newcastle going down that route

I would say Newcastle United are more of a threat than Celtic. I’d say Newcastle Town were. Never going to happen.

Long way from home for him... 1hr on a plane mate I think he's referring to his stint at Burnley when he said he was home sick, well he said his family didn't settle.

Not sure MON would go, have you seen the players that get linked to Celtic, mainly championship clubs and players prefer to not go to Scotland. If the papers are to be believed then we had players decide come to us when we was bottom of the championship.

It seems Neil Lennon's sacking is imminent, but the assistant will be caretaker until the end of the season. www.theguardian.com/football/2021/feb/23/neil-lennon-on-brink-at-celtic-with-john-kennedy-set-to-replace-himWhat then? I can hardly imagine that they haven't taken notice of Michael O'Neill's personal success as Stoke manager. He's going to be high on their list of candidates, and I think the job will be offered to him. This could give MON a sleepless night or two, but I think he will turn the offer down. It's the right job for him at the wrong time. He's bound by loyalty (more than your average manager) to the Stoke owners, moreover he's started something good at Stoke but he hasn't really seen it come to fruition. Maybe when he has served promotion, he will be more approachable, but of course Celtic can't wait for that. I’ve been worried about this for a while. He has to be on their radar. If he was offered it I think it would be hard for him to turn down. Good to see he is only at 80/1 with the bookies. Hopefully they will want a bigger name to appease the fans but I think he will definitely be on the short list.

He'd have to change his underdog mentality at Celtic, he'd be expected to win every game up there. Although they may do better in European competition under him....?

MON at 80s with Skybet.... John Kennedy 10/11 Steve Clarke 9/2 Eddie Howe 5/1 Roberto Martinez 8/1 Rafael Benitez 9/1 Frank Lampard 10/1 Roy Keane 16/1 Alex Neil 20/1 Thierry Henry 20/1 Enzo Maresca 22/1 Jack Ross 22/1 Dan Petrescu 25/1 Gordon Strachan 25/1 Martin O'Neill 25/1 Shaun Maloney 25/1 Damien Duff 33/1 Henrik Larsson 33/1 Mark Hughes 33/1 Paul Lambert 33/1 Andriy Shevchenko 40/1 Andre Villas-Boas 50/1 David Moyes 50/1 Jim Goodwin 50/1 Jindřich Trpišovský 50/1 Marco Silva 50/1 Ralf Rangnick 50/1 Alan Stubbs 66/1 Gavin Strachan 66/1 John Terry 66/1 Malky Mackay 66/1 Scott Brown 66/1 Sean Dyche 66/1 Stephen McManus 66/1 Veljko Paunovic 66/1 Chris Wilder 80/1 Claudio Ranieri 80/1 Daniel Stendel 80/1 Michael O'Neill 80/1 Paolo Di Canio 80/1 Paul Cook 80/1 Pellegrino Matarazzo 80/1 Serhiy Rebrov 80/1 Steven Reid 80/1 Stiliyan Petrov 80/1 Xabi Alonso 80/1 Arsene Wenger 100/1 Brendan Rodgers 100/1 Gary Holt 100/1 Jurgen Klopp 100/1 Marcelo Bielsa 100/1 Marcelo Gallardo 100/1 Mike Newell 100/1 Patrick Vieira 100/1 Roberto Di Matteo 100/1 Ronald Koeman 100/1 Stephen Robinson 100/1 Tony Mowbray 100/1Martinez leaving Belgium for Celtic is only 8/1? Am I missing something? There’s a few pearls on there actually. Martinez, and I dare say a few others, just don’t need the hassle do they? Two of em have apparently already said no. Paulo on the same odds as MON?? Brenda? Surely not. Shop window for Eddie Shithouse to stage hie return to the Prem with a prestige appointment at, oh, Crystal Palace or Brighton 🤔

Money could take away some of that mentality. I don't really follow Scottish football any more but I think Celtic don't have the ffp restrictions which we have. With an open mastercard account MON could go on a shopping spree that would make any wife insanely jealous of him.

MON hasn't and he doesn't even have much English league experience. So we go back to the Potter example. Obviously I don’t want anyone to come in for MON as I’d like him to continue the good work he’s doing here. I just don’t think we should ignore the fact that based on his success with NI and his good start here, there could be interest from above.

I made the above point, but sometimes clubs jump at the flavour of the moment (where lack of PL experience is not held against a manager). Not saying MON is that of course, but there's been plenty of managerial announcements which hadn't been clearly thought through. The worst in recent years is probably de Boer at Crystal Palace.
