Question. How many of O'Neill's 7 signings (excluding this month's batch as we haven't seen enough of them) have actually improved us? Fletcher, Mikel, Thompson, Fox, Chester, Brown and TOB are the seven I refer to. Fox and Fletcher. Although fletcher has been far too injury prone. The others have been meh Pretty much how I see it too. Fletcher is a goal scorer but was a big risk due to his injury record and so it has proved. I'd be happy with him if he could stay fit. Fox is a pretty fair left back in the true sense of the word, in that he can defend. However a left wing back, in my opinion, he is definitely not. I genuinely wouldn't be bothered, based on contribution to date, if any of the other five left tomorrow. They may all have had the odd good game here and there but, in terms of consistency and improving us, for me it's a no. I accept they were mostly cheap or free transfer options but they still pick up salaries that could have been better spent. And I also accept that previous managers have brought in far more expensive and far worse players too.

He's getting away with fucking murder really. It's last season's minor miracle and only 7 defeats in 28 so far this season that keeps him in the job. PLus I doubt the Board want yet another change of manager and all the disruption that goes with it.

I’m enjoying watching those green shoots of recovery under difficult FFP restrictions.
Remember that Jones and Rowett are still performing less well with their new clubs.

Where as these players have got us contemplating promotion. The squad before cost what, + £50m? The players you point out cost up front of around £3m.

Good point, although to be fair, the players that was here before are a large part of our contemplating: Powell, Davies, Clucas, Allen, McClean, Tymon, and signed at various points in the past, Collins, Souttar, Bursik, Campbell.

Glass half full. Glass half empty, only one win. Draws are two points dropped.

No fans in matches are massive. Watching on streams are like watching games in the park. How many drawn games would we have won with a baying 22000????

Errr well the same squad, under MON, when set up right were in promotion form last season. The only one's to have improved us are Mikel and Fox for me. Mikel is a one man midfiled at the min and Fox has been a much needed solid left back.

I think you need to take into account how much he got flogged, it was pretty clear he needed a rest and his performance faltered as a result. But over all he's been a massive improvement on what we already had imo. I don't disagree he had a dip mind.

Absolute garbage today, my normal Stoke instinct is now kicking in and I have started to look down the table, ridiculous run of games, he has to start to turn this, sacrifice the names if necessary, if the fans were in the stadium he would be in no doubt of the crowds feeling

Why was the MON out thread deleted????
His signings are diabolical.
His line ups are terrible
His tactics are negative
The performances are boring, uninspiring, pointless (or one at best)
We are going nowhere. So when is enough, enough? 1 in 20? 1 in 25?
Mods I found it a valid discussion, whilst we have no money we can't exactly just get rid but whose fault is that? CEO Pizza boy, it's his and Johnny's responsibility. The fan disconnect during such hard times is also a massive concern.

Didn’t expect anything today (although the performance has been desperately poor) but we really, really need to win at least one of the next two to stop the slide.

It’s pretty desperate. We’ve looked awful today. The press conference from MON the other day was basically waving the white flag for the season.
There is no way... if fans had been in the ground especially at home that the standard would have been as low. The whole attitude lately stinks... it’s as if we should be great full we stayed up.
As I’ve said before the club think they can get away with a total lack of ambition as we’re not at the games.
The local press never challenge, never point out anything negative- it’s like they’re the clubs pr.
This run is as turgid as anything served up by Rowett.
I’m sorry but MON deserves criticism at present. People should t shoot down those who criticise.
