Wish I was alive back then, and the sixties. I just feel privileged to have done the eighties and nineties. I wonder if the twenty somethings now will look back in 30 years and say this era was a great time?

Great decade, can't be beaten. To coin a phrase... It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Whatever it was it was an awesome time - particularly for someone like me born in 1963. That video is a cracking snapshot of what the decade contained - albeit I’d have preferred a clip of Stoke from The Big Match. Long live nostagia.

Great decade, can't be beaten. Doesn't come close to the 60s. ELVIS, BEATLES, WORLD CUP WINNERS, SUMMER OF LOVE, MUHAMMAD ALI, MEN ON THE MOON and Bob Dylan, Beachboys, Tamla Motown, Soul, Wall of Sound, Underground Music, colour TV, James Bond films, Pele played at Stoke!!! Personally I'm a 50s man. Rock'n'Roll and all that.

There is a series of programs on Sky Arts at the moment . Freeview Ch 11. The Seventies.
For me it was a great period of my life. Clubbing, Chasing girls and growing up etc.
But at the same time People of my generation were being drafted and fighting in Vietnam. To my shame I was oblivious to it. It was just another news item on the TV that I was to preoccupied to take notice of.
Undoubtably an important period in history, resulting in many changes in society, culture, and attitudes which are still prevalent to this day.

So I was the ages of 10 up to 20 in the 70's. I would give anything to go back there for a while. Puberty, yes finding girls ha, leaving school, first job, Wembley 72, Hudson Greenhoff etc and that red hot summer of 76. Met the future wife, learned to drive and not forgetting the music. Grease, Saturday Night fever lots of films, Jaws Exorcist Rollerball Earthquake, all good back then. Wonderful era.

Cant believe I'm the first to say it but to me
The 1970s is now sadly the decade of nonces in flares that no one really wants to talk about.
(I'm actually being serious not making cheap jokes at poor children's expense.)

Lob in The Jam and my motorbike plus the summer it was pretty good.
