Ah come on, she's unbelievable. A genuine worldie. Here, Rossi. I'm going massively off-topic here but I'm sure I've seen you banging the drum about China & their 're-education' camps. Have you seen this? Do we reckon Creepy Joe will come down hard on them? Astounding stuff mate. Beyond words. What is happening to the world? The UN (and indeed the EU) posting about China's human rights and what a great partner they are. Aside from raping women and children, concentration camps, organ harvesting of uyghur Muslims and one of the worst human rights record since Nazi Germany and Stalin's Russia, the Chinese Communist Party are a lovely bunch. When will people wake the fuck up. Probably when it's too late.

What do we think Mr Bidens first move will be on Covid?
I've seen the mask mandate, but I wonder if they are thinking about any major steps? I can't imagine the Americans accepting lockdown measures.

Aye, go on then. If the BBC, CNN etc are so bad - where do you get your news from? So you're still not really giving comment on what I said. Do you think they'll hammer Creepy Joe like they did with The Don?... Or do you think they'll give Creepy Joe & his dozen strong rally crowd & few hundred strong stream viewership an easy ride, and instead carry on hammering The Don & the millions of clicks that'll generate? Which month & country are you picking? Does it not concern you that the UK will soon be dragged along into another pointless war, or do you think it wont happen & Creepy Joe will build on The Don's historically successful normalising of ties between the Israelis & Arabs? If Biden proves to be a braindead idiot every time he opens his mouth like Creepy Don has then I suspect they'll pan him. I think we can be sure Fox News and the right-wing outlets will hammer him from day one - as they did with Obama. Luckily Obama didn't bitch and whinge and shit the bed about it like Tired Old Don. No idea how Biden will react to it - hopefully he'll just crack on with it and not be weak enough to let him affect him like Pissy Knickers Don did. As for the numbers at his rallies, you do realise they are practising social distancing right? You may have noticed there's been less people at quite a few events recently, including Stoke games. That may explain it, maybe. Luckily he got a fuckton of people turning up to vote at the election, which is a tad more important than how many people are watching a stream. If you think social media is important though we could go with Twitter followers. Current score: Joe Biden 25,000,000 (25 MILLION) v 0 Lonely Old Don. As for the war - I don't know. I do know Trump supporters have gone fucking mental with the 'war with Iran' scaremongering. Last time I had this conversation (with somebody else on here) I asked for something that suggests Biden has his eyes set on Iran and I got nothing back. One things for sure, Big Bomber Don has left relations with Iran a damn sight worse off than when he arrived at the White House four years ago. Hopefully Cool Head Joe can steady the ship on that front. Hopefully Big Daddy Joe can continue where Little Tiddler Trump appears to have done some good work (like the normalising of ties you mention) and restore some accountability where Trump has evaded it - mainly to start counting the number of bombs/drones used instead of doctoring numbers to make himself seem like a pacifist. Now could you answer my question on where you get your news?

As an American, I am beyond ecstatic that Trump is out of office. I like Biden but am not crazy about him.
Biden will approach the job with a sense of duty and not try to draw undue attention to himself. I don't know if that will make the country less chaotic and more unified, but he'll try.
Overall, I think Biden's term (singular as no one expects him to run for a second term) will be perfectly acceptable but unmemorable. And that's probably what the country needs right now.

He'll be very focused on the vaccine. There is talk of him calling in the military to help with the vaccine rollout. Israel did that, and they're kicking butt with vaccinating people. There will probably also be mass public campaigns to convince people to get the vaccine.

I thought the inauguration was good and in parts memorable, and equal to the great speeches of the past like FDR, Kennedy and Reagan in setting a new direction .
I feel positive about Biden and as a Catholic I wonder if he will be as transformational as another elderly man who attained high office in his late 70s Pope John XXIII in terms of having a " root and branch " impact on the office which will continue long after he has left the scene.
Here's hoping

Anyone else find that poem recital by Amanda Gorman uplifting? Beautiful words delivered so confidently by such a young person. If she is setting out the stall for Biden’s presidency, one can look forward with some optimism. Such a stark contrast to the bombastic, macho posturing of Trump. And yet... Words are words, actions are actions. We’ll have to wait and see how well the next 4 years pan out. The Hill We Climb though has set out a pretty good scorecard against which we might be able to measure how well Biden and co perform against the expectations set out on his first day in office.

The US government by its constitution is supposed to be secular, so not really sure why religion needs to be a factor in discussing Biden. There is no religious qualification to taking up public office.
Of course the reality is that the religious right is hugely powerful as a lobbying and political force, and most presidents of all flavours have to at least pay lip service to it. Which is a shame.

My issue is with the amount of coverage US Politics gets in British media, it's way too much imo and is hugely convenient for our own Government.
There is very little coverage or investigative coverage of our own administration in our own media. Issues which have much more impact on people's daily lives like lowering of Food standards are completely under the radar.

I'm keen to see how Biden sees us and ultimately treats us, as an ally. Trump stated that Britain would in-line for a US trade deal, Biden has stated that wouldn't be the case and we are not a priority. www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1378389/Joe-Biden-US-UK-trade-deal-Boris-johnson-2021-EU-tariffs-trade-war

Joe the Aborter is Catholic in name only, very much pro-Murdering the Unborn. His religious beliefs don’t stand up to a lot of scrutiny I guess whether his beliefs stand up to scrutiny is up to Biden and his God to judge . Think on many issues he has been on the side of the angels , for example his consistent anti apartheid stance in the 80s . In terms of serial shaggers in the White House I don't think JFK was the only offender . Warren Harding who became President 100 years ago had dalliances with his mistress in a closet in the White House . Incidentally he has often been called the worst ever President by most historians ( I suspect he might be toppled from that position by the 45th President ) FDR, LBJ and Clinton all had their scandals. Roosevelt was with his mistress when he had his fatal brain haemorrhage in Warm Springs in April 45 , it does not stop being perhaps the greatest President of all

The interview with Boris asking if he thinks Biden is "woke" is hilarious.
He's nowhere near as woke as his useless side kick but he's probably a solid 7 out of 10 on the scale of wokeness.
