The forecast for the next few days is looking pretty bleak. The Met office have named the storm ( Christof ) which is always a bad sign, and there could be wide spread flooding in many areas.
Stokes game at Rotherham could well be affected.
The predicted deluge over Wales will almost certainly cause problems downstream on the Severn, as well as many other areas.
As Boris says, “ No reason not to stay at home! “

Work in Shrewsbury and on alert for flooding similar to what we had last February, that was the precursor to the frankly crappest year I've ever had so let's see how this pans out .

It always seems to have a few days delay before it gets down to Shropshire and Gloucester. I often wonder if the defences just move the problems downstream for others to cope with ?

We were in Shrewsbury when it was flooded last year, looked horrendous to deal with for the residents but very 'impressive.' Went on a tour around the jail, well worth a visit.

Busy is Better than furloughed though ( I keep telling myself!) , could just use a break from floods as bad as before

My sister and cousin were doing some shopping and we were bored so we offered to help him carry it, he was parked bloody miles away!! We ended up getting lost on the way back from taking it to his van

On the way to the Hospital this morning for work the Puddles were horrendous.
As many of you know I hate Winter. Dark and Raining is the worst.

Surely need a pitch inspection? Plenty of rain in the area some travel issues 😟 Surprisingly the pitch is looking in great condition considering the recent heavy rain. They've had a couple of games postponed through the snow & sure one may have been due to CV related issue so the pitch may have been unused as much when comparing to other pitches. That Blackburn pitch on Saturday was awful, we did well to escape there with no serious injuries..

Are there rules nowadays about the pitch and playing surface, and fines if they are not up to the required level?
In first class cricket, County Teams can be docked points if they prepare bowler friendly or sub standard pitches.

For an idea of what it's like around here dyfi bridge cctv is worth a Google. The image you'll see is supposed to be a road bridge going over the estuary river. Mind you it is high tide as well.

.... Cyclone Kimi just went past us on the weekend as I was flying back from the cricket on Sunday. Turned around just south of Townsville and headed back this way (as a Tropical low.) Currently dumping six inches a day. Now that’s what I call serious rainfall. Kimi was only Cat 2 (just blows a bit), we only get a bit anxious when it’s Cat 4 or 5

So I didn't jump in all of them just one. Worse. Well when I left the main road and entrance to hospital was closed because the flooded field had flooded the road. 😂 Now we all have snow blizzare 😉

Forgot about the floods! Only last Feb? Fuuuck! I remember it but thought it was longer ago than that. It was a catastrophe, it made my journey from Newport to Shrews to see my mate 15mins longer! I suffered i tell you In all seriousness though, went for a walk into town from Cherry Orchard and it was a fucking nightmare when you could see the destruction it had done to town. P.S. remember the days when you used to be able to go to your mate's house?

Northwich and the surrounding areas are awash, Town centre flooded from drains overwhelmed, the new river defences around the town are holding but the streets are flooded, the A49 is shut both ways, as is the A559 and parts of the A556 near to Jct 19 M6 is closed We've had a small landslide at the edge of our village where a path goes down to the canal, I run down and up it a lot. the river has burst it's banks in lots of places outside of the town and many areas are unpassable. Villages like Davenham have had floods with no river nearby Take a look at all the pictures on here www.facebook.com/groups/northwichlifeAttachment Deleted
