True but I will never accept that as a defence for a striker who can’t score or a trap a ball. Powell should have played up front today imo. Powell would have still been knackered after 60-70 minutes, maybe even sooner, he did enough pressing as it was. Whoever plays up front in that system needs to be working for 90 minutes full on, or replaced with like for like. We didn't have that option. I thought it was a mistake to be bring a player on as rusty as Clarke for Powell, I would have brought Cousins on then and shuffled accordingly. Clarke looked like he needed 20 minutes just to find the pace of the game and we couldn't afford that luxury, and paid the price. As soon as Powell went off we had nothing to offer and struggled, that also coincided with Brown being totally knackered at the same time, so we needed replacement there too, which we didn't have. Today we just basically ran out of legs. We did well in the end to get a point. We did run out of the legs and the manager didn’t see that. That’s worrying because it was so fucking obvious.

Looking a the fixtures I dandy out season will be done by mid February and we will be pretty much be comes needing tow or three results for the mandatory 50 . We’ve a very tough run of fixtures and without more fluidly and goals we are done the returning. Players won’t wife enough time to get up to speed till it’s too late and while ND allows excellent the wide Players are juniors in this league This seasons a gonna. It could happily end now for me. Regroup and try again in August when hopefully the world is a better place.

Whilst a disappointing result, I was quite encouraged because you could see what MON is trying to put together. He said when he came that he preferred 4-3-3, which is what we saw today. All the pieces are there except up front due to injuries. The defense was solid except when they fell asleep and let in a silly goal, and a mid-field of Allen, Mikkel and Thompson might be the best in the league. Powell, Fletcher (if he can stay fit) and a replacement for Campbell would complete the picture. Clark looks very eager and pretty quick. Blackburn looked like they respected us with the way they set up. It was a stupid foul by Chester because I am not sure it was necessary and totally changed the game.

We actually need to start sharing the goals around a bit. Sure, injuries have killed us, but do people actually think we are going to pull a rabbit out of the hat and find a goal scorer with no money to spend who no one else has spotted or will want? No chance. What we actually need is Fletcher to come back and have a strong second half of the season alongside Powell.
If Fletcher can’t play three games a week and sits a few out, then we need Gregory to come in and play well. He’s not the best, but he’s more mobile than Vokes and certainly no worse than Brown.
When we got promoted last time, defenders and midfielders were chipping in with goals. How many goals have to seen from other areas of the pitch this season? Barely any, and that’s something we need to try and address.

We did run out of the legs and the manager didn’t see that. That’s worrying because it was so fucking obvious. But you like him... ive been reading on here a lot longer than I’ve posted. Bayern gets shit just for speaking sense. It is ok to like a manager but criticise him. I like MON... but since Campbell injury how can anyone say he’s not been unnecessarily negative?
