The boards round the pitch are a fucking liability. Way too close to play. Fletcher got injured because of them, Brown and Powell as well. And the Blackburn lad could have broken his back.

But where would I know where to get insurance or cheap tiles from without them?? Fair point. At least the players can get the insurance number as they career towards it.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Am I correct to say we lost Campbell because of the advertising hoardings as well?

Powell jarred his ankle.
Could be out for a bit.

Been thinking it a lot recently. The number of times you see a player go into them at speed... in this day and age it's absolutely mental they're allowed. Totally unjustifiable.

There should be a league rule as to the minimum distance from the pitch they have to be - especially behind the goal. The problem is probably even worse in those stadia where the turf surround slopes steeply away from the pitch - Old Trafford being an obvious example.

Michael O'Neill confirms that Nick Powell jarred his ankle colliding with that sponsor board. All the money the club makes from sponsors could well go down the drain due to one player being injured by the advertising hoardings π

But where would I know where to get insurance or cheap tiles from without them?? Talking about tiles I went to a Tile Mine a few weeks ago, Β£55 a sq mt, same ones at BQ Β£24 a sq mt, donβt get sucked in by electronic boarding, car insurance not due til May but will update... π

I just think it's simply been a bad year for it & likely coincidental that we've noticed so many instances with them this season. Afterall we've had the electronic advert boards up since the Premier League era began & I've never remembered any instances of any major note prior to this season occuring. I remember Stoke were quite unique at one time as we were the only club in the Prem to actually have 2x banks of electronic advertising hoardings.
Perhaps it's something strange like the players sensing there's no fans in the seats on the front rows go more full pelt into goal scoring challenges that maybe they wouldn't do when there's loads of people sat right behind them? Just seems to have been worse in the period where no fans are in.
Afterall, before the electronic hoardings were up, most grounds had wooden backed Advertising 'A'boards on the pitch surrounds, sure they'd of hurt back in the day if unfortunate enough to run into.
& think back to the old days of the Vic for those old enough to remember, they'd of had a massive metal fence to run into right behind the goal lines!

They need banning and quickly.
Every other place of work is restrained by health and safety rules and yet these dangerous objects are allowed to persist. Does a player have to suffer a life threatening injury before someone acts?
