One player from the Hughes era that you would have back in a heartbeat. Who would it be?

N’Zonzi.
We never have and never will replace him.

N’Zonzi. We never have and never will replace him. Rolls Royce. But Arnie was good too.

N’Zonzi. We never have and never will replace him. Rolls Royce. But Arnie was good too. Bojan and Arnie run him close but they were more favourites for how exciting they were, the same as Fuller. N’Zonzi remains the greatest footballer I have ever seen in a Stoke shirt, as the years have gone by it’s quite clear just how staggeringly integral he was to our success, all for £3.5 million. And for all the stick he got he left us to win silverware rather than money like everyone was expecting him to do, and he went and did just that.

N'Zonzi. At his peak Bojan was beautiful to watch, barely touching the grass as he floated across it. Fuck Arnie.

Arnie without a shadow of a doubt! On his best among the best players in the world, and I'm not kidding! Unfortunately it was about his mood too, but on his day you'd have to swap him with Messi or Ronaldo to see anyone better!

Arnie closely followed by N'Zonzi and SJW Gouranga.

Best player was N'Zonzi. Brilliant player and a shame he left for Sevilla - a midfield with him in with BMX infront of them would've been as good as any.
Odemwingie gets a special mention. Swapping Jones for him was exactly what we needed.

Definitely arnie. Best player I’ve ever seen in a Stoke shirt. With his ability he could have easily played for Real Madrid. Can’t believe he played for us not so long ago. Make me want to weep 😭 to how things are now

Bojan. For too short a time he was Messi esque Arnie without a doubt but I know what you mean about Bojan. When Bojan was on song he was just a joy to watch - made the game look effortless. Trouble is he wasn't that often and not for long. I think the thing with Bojan was - what could have been

Glenn Whealan, because without him doing the gritty and unnoticed work you wouldn’t have been able to witness the flair and sublime skills of the players who grabbed the headlines, he did his job without any fanfare and you where guaranteed the same level of consistency game after game. He showed his character by driving all his replacements away and has never been been properly replaced to too this day.

Bojan. The way he played November, December and January showed why he was dubbed the next Messi at Barcelona. He could have returned to them in that form and fitted in place with no issue. Naturally talented and his injury denied us a proper Stoke legend I feel.

Would you class N'Zonzi as the Hughes era given Pulis signed him?

Bojan. Would you class N'Zonzi as the Hughes era given Pulis signed him? Depends how you look at it, he was signed by Pulis but played the vast majority of his games for us under Hughes. For me that makes him Hughes era, definitely open to interpretation though.

Yeah, I'd definitely class Nzonzi as Hughes era.
Victor Moses as well was another exciting player to watch during that time.

If we ever get to see a Stoke player as good as Nzonzi was in 2014/15, or Arnautovic in 2015/16, then we'll be doing well.

As much as I loved Bojan, I'd choose Arnie. He was of course a super player I'm just a bitter bastard! There's one thing worse than your hot missus leaving you for a better looking fella and that's your missus leaving you for an equally ugly bastard with more mental parents! I'll never forgive the twat. Still N'Zonzi and Bojan for me. Bojan is the only player that ever took my breath away in all my time watching Stoke. Those early days he was on a different planet to what anyone under 45 had seen at Stoke.

There is without doubt one that stands above the others John Walters You could literally see how frustrated Arnie used to get when he would tea it up for Walters and he would fluff it.
