Being scouted 10 times by NJ and a glowing reference isn't a positive for me. Let's just hope the other references are correct. TBF to Jones he signed James Justin didn't here and he looks like a cracking player. Saying that didnt Jones also play Carter Vickers at right back? NJ didn’t sign Justin for Luton, he came through their youth ranks. But it was NJ who gave him his debut.

Justin certainly looks a very good player. He's definitely a right back though but can do a very good job at left. It'll be interesting to see what happens when Ricardo is fit as he's one of my favourite right backs.
With R N-D, I'm guessing we're looking to cover ourselves while Fox is injured and if we did to to 3-5-2, Fox could play on the left of defence, although that doesn't help with Smith being on the right!!

Why? We clearly needed another left back Seems like a pretty solid signing to me. Can't for the life of me see anything odd about it. The only drawback is it's a loan not a signing.

If he can get a chance for England he could be an outsider for the Euros (if they go ahead) due to his versatility in playing both right and left back.....

Maybe the player has pushed for it and we're paying a higher % share of his wage? Maybe - but he won't be on big money, will he? In Prem terms , it'll be peanuts. Definitely seems to be just a loan Could someone like Tom Ince be part of the deals it’s strange to bring him back from Luton for another loan deal with out Sheffield get something out of it.

If this was a straight loan deal I would of thought it would of been announced by now. They wouldn't recall him unless the deal was practically signed would they.

I reckon if we go up, we'll make him a permie. For now, Rhys would be our No. 1 LB with Fox playing LCB, providing cover for Rhys when necessary. The added bonus of this arrangement is that it keeps Chester and Batth out of the team!

Justin came through the Luton Academy. He can take SOME credit for Stacey who he signed from Reading as a RW and converted him to a very decent RB.

Would be much happier about what looks like a decent signing if we hadn't been linked to Pickering

Also Jones was reluctant to play Justin, he had Stacey ahead of him at right back and it wasn't until their first choice left back was injured that he was forced to play Justin there, the rest after that is history. So the whole James Justin rise was more down to luck and the player rather than Jones' judgement.

I'm not convinced that this is a loan for loan swap. WBA and Burnley both wanted to sign him permanently. I wonder if this is a loan to buy, it reminds me of the Assadi recall by Liverpool. Standard loans have that purchase recall clause built in. There is absolutely no additional benefit for him being recalled to then be loaned to us any financial difference would be tiny for SUFC.

Would be much happier about what looks like a decent signing if we hadn't been linked to Pickering For the first couple of hours this morning I was mad for Pickering. 3 hours later, I'm like "Harry who...?" The BA stats pages reporting on his slowness really put me off, and at the end of the day he has no Championship experience. RNB on the other hand is one of the Top 3 young attacking LBs in the Championship, probably just behind Harry Toffolo and Scott Malone. I'll be gutted now if we don't get him.

Strange one but I'll take that Yes thought McLean was doing a cracking job, joking apart though we seem to go from one crisis position to another without ever fixing it other than overpriced shit who get binned after a few months

They really rate him.

It’s a bit strange that he’s left a club that he was on loan too, to join another on loan
I guess the reasons will be one of the below
He wants to move closer to home Stoke will pay a greater proportion of his wage that Luton He might catch the eye more at Stoke There maybe a option to sign albeit if reports are true that won’t be the case
Personally I think we will be paying more than Luton will be, hence why Sheffield Utd are keen

Can a player be loaned to 2 different clubs in the same season? I think the rule is you can't play for more than 2 clubs in a season Jey. So as long as he didn't play for Sheff early on we're owrate. You'd expect Big To to be all over such minutiae. The rule has been relaxed this season because of Covid, to allow a player to play for 3 clubs in a season. So, even if he has played a game for the Blades he could still play for us.

Living away during a pandemic can't be much fun. He may be able to commute to us. Plus, as long as he's been assured of game time, hard not to see us as a more attractive option for half a season If he knows we're interested, and with the break clause making it possible, from Sheff Utd's point of view, why not?

Why would Allen want to go?. They are going down this season. I could see him going to say West Ham maybe but not Sheffield United.

There is no chance of us offering us anything like as much to renew. If he could get three and a half year deal at Sheffield on similar or even slightly less than he’s on now it would be sensible for him to take it.

Surely only signed so they can recoup the wages via lettering on shirt sales? 🤔
To be fair I'd sign him just to piss Jones off
