Yes injured I think. I think he’s done pretty well this season, his energy has been a plus for us I believe

Would explain his absence if not injured. May have started if fit.

An average Centre mid but nowhere near good enough at LB or LWB. Gouranga.

Was hoping this might be a thread to say we've sold him.

Needs bringing back into the team until Fox is back.
McClean is in absolutely shocking form and just isn't a LWB. I don't think Tymon's up to much either, but I'd rather see that than us try to shoehorn someone crap in at LB in a back 4.

Clearly McClean isn't the answer as LWB, so why not give Tymon a go, either as LB or LWB. That way we would either, get the best out of McClean as a winger, or be able to use Verlinden or the new kiddy at LW

That's harsh Dave, he has certainly improved and his delivery from wide is way better than McClean's.

To solve our LB problem (temporarily) just play a centre back there ala Pulis, can't be any worse than JM or JT. We could even try Lyndsay as hes left footed tell him to defend and not to worry about venturing too far forward. Gouranga.

Tymon is not good enough to take us to where we need to get to. If we got rid and got a few hundred grand in the process it might free us up to get the crewe lad or someone else o'Neil might want. Hopefully McLean to celtic can be arranged in this window as well.

Hes just a bit meh.
He's had a couple of good appearances but that's about it. Maybe he needs a loan too with the proviso he plays in the middle.

To be fair Dave, not many in our squad are fit for purpose, to take us forward.. I am quite liking our current transfer policy, of investing in younger, pacier players, with potential sell on value..

It's a bit of a stretch to refer to that as our 'current transfer policy' after a summer in which we signed three players in their mid-thirties...

No arguments from me. Of the players that have been here a while, I wouldn't be sad to see any of them leave, aside from Campbell and Powell. We've done better this season but whereas some would argue we should be doing better than we are as previous failures were the manager of the times fault, I'd argue otherwise. Previous managers were crap because they signed, in the main, crap players. We are still stuck with many of them and are reliant on a few. Tymon, McLean, ince, vokes, gregory, lindsey, clucas, smith and probably others I can't even remember right now, are all dispensible and players the manager probably wouldn't hesitate to get rid of given half a chance (granted I doubt he'd have clucas on his list of outs)

Not sure Josh has what it takes. Looks reluctant to really get involved in a game. You’d have thought he’d be perfect for LWB, but obviously not. He’s certainly not good enough to be one of three midfielders. Although my cull wouldn’t be as severe as DJ’s, he’s one we should let go as soon as Doughty comes in for instance, or before if another left sider comes in.

Think we need to be careful how we judge the likes of Josh, Thompson, TOB and to an extent Brown. The successes of Bursik, Collins, Campbell, Souttar can easily sway us to look at other youngsters as strugglers in comparison.
It's been a long time since I've felt positive about our future but with the recent signings, Sorensen, if we can keep Verlinden(doubtful), the young lad at Chester, who knows how Edwards will return, hopefully more positive.
Our experience should be coming from the likes of Davis, Cousins and Powell, good aged pro's.

I wondered whether we could offer Crewe a half season Tymon loan (plus the cash obviously) as a sweetener for Pickering, assuming that both Blackburn and ourselves are prepared to meet the asking price. Could give us an edge? And Josh will improve with games.
