Stalled a season so badly🤔 Campbell,Fletcher and Powell really did look a top combination Take the three best players out of any team and they would struggle. Those three are just far ahead of most else of what we have

Yes mate that’s what I meant re Campbell but I meant as an attacking 3 Yes, but how shit is it to be relying on a 20year old who had only played a few dozen first team games and never really set the world on fire. Let's face it, we knew that Campbell could be good but nobody expected him to be as good as he had been this season. I can't believe a professional sports set-up with such a fabulous track record in spotting talent (tongue in cheek) knew that Campbell was going to be THE man - therefore why didn't we sign another player incase he didn't perform - don't say it was Brown because he is dreadful and has never been "clinical" or "prolific".

The manager chooses to be negative when he doesn’t have to be. He’s only got himself to blame.

We’ve just come a ridiculously overloaded and intense run of games where we’ve lost our best player and had other injuries with a real mixed bag of results, which isn’t a surprise.
But I really hope we hope come back from finally having a week off between games with a complete change of mindset and start going out to win rather than setting up for 0-0 and hoping to somehow grab a goal along the way. Losing Campbell is definitely a massive blow but it can’t be an excuse to keep playing like this for the rest of the season.

Losing Fox seems to have put the tin hat on it. and he's not even a good or important player per se, but being the only left back in the club, his absence has had repercussions throughout the whole team and made every one worse.

It didn't need to be as bad as it has, yes he's a massive loss but we just gave up as soon as it happened. We haven't even tried to find a better balance.

At the time Campbell was injured i thought he was difference of at least 5pts and up to 10 pts and a possible play off place.
Sadly after having an enjoyable purple patch of Fletcher, Campbell and Powell combining we are now a poor watch creativity wise not knowing when we may next score a good team goal. Not helped by Gregory's injury who would be better than a certain forward and the Fox injury who had settled into a solid back 4 and even he looked good extinguishing dangerous wide players of Blackburn and QPR before his hamstring injury.

It may work in our favour as it looked like the premier league were taking notice of how well he was playing as well as us.

Losing Fox seems to have put the tin hat on it. This , bigger loss than Campbell, losing Fox made MoN start playing 5 at the back again and trying hang on for draws

I thought there was an incident yesterday which summed up our current malaise. In the first half, I think it was Allen, who hit a long cross field pass straight to McCLean. He brought it down well. He was midway inside the Leicester half with at least ten yards of space in front of him. He had a few options, take on the full back, come inside and look for a one-two, play an early cross. Instead he turned round, attempted to play back to someone in the left back slot, probably Baarth, left his pass short and set Leicester up for an attack from which they almost scored. This isn't just another McCLean bashing but an example of how we are lacking bravery in our passing and general play. McCLean isn't the only one. I don't think Clucas played a forward pass all game and Mikel wasn't much better, Smith is another who constantly plays it safe. This isn't a plea to just hoof the ball forward, I'm quite happy to see it played back when there is nothing on or a player is under pressure but there are times we need to be more positive. Of course, we've been hit by injuries and gaps in the squad and have players like Vokes who aren't up to it, but this isn't the whole story. Some will say this is down to the manager. I'm not sure this is right, I don't think he's a particularly negative manager although maybe he could do more to instil confidence and positivity in players.

The manager chooses to be negative when he doesn’t have to be. He’s only got himself to blame. I’d say his record since taking the helm is a pretty positive one so I don’t think he be finding anyone to blame.

Fox is arguably just as much a loss as Campbell as its “forced” the manager to revert to the turgid, no fluency, zero attacking threat that is 5-3-2 with no wingbacks.

Absence has a way of making the football heart grow beyond any sense fonder, and Campbell, who people were saying on here 15 months ago should never play again for Stoke, has been elevated to a state where many believe that were he only fit all our problems would cease to exist. When he does come back and doesn't score for his first 20 games, the same people will come down so hard on him, as if he was Vokes reincarnated.
