He’s not fit and getting minutes coming back to fitness. We’ve got loads of injuries / players MON doesn’t trust so using him will pay off. If anyone thinks that Joe Allen isn’t good enough for Stoke at the moment is badly wrong.

Honestly think he's been one of our better midfielders in every game he's played since he's come back. He fades as games go on atm, which is to be expected given the injury he had, but I think he's come back really strongly given the circumstances.

Totally bottled a tackle for the third. Shocking. Not sure that is fair. Looked like a tired player that simply couldn't get to the pitch of the ball. Their player took the ball on the move, having the momentum to go past him like he wasn't there...a bit like McLean should have done 10 minutes earlier. Allen, like Ryan, did well until the 2nd goal knocked the energy out of him (and others). The ball was there to be won and he stopped. Completely bottled it and then was the fitness came in with the recovery. Allen was wank for the first goal too with his usual efforts of being close but not close enough when it comes to defending. Shame really as I was hoping he’d do ok and we could sell him.

You mustn't be pleased with the increasingly regularity that Souttar turns his back when getting out to block shots?

As for the bottling comment I don’t think it is. There was a ball there to be won and he stopped. It also killed him for the recovery.

I think he will be fine in the championship when back to full fitness but the days of him competing with the likes of Leicester and being sold for decent money has gone. Should have attempted to sell him as soon as we were relegated to boost the coffers

Since he came back he's been our best midfielder. What fucking game do some stoke fans watch? Like seriously? Absolute clueless.

Worryingly it seems that if Joe is fit he plays , I thought he was pretty anonymous all game , onefatcopper , I don’t think we could sell him due to his very large salary.

What about the massive hole at the centre halfs spot? Hopefully today was shawcross' last performance in a stolen shirt.

He was far better than Mikel. I agree with that. Mikel has had enough, it’s obvious! Cousins needs to be brought back forthwith and maybe that’ll help Allen and Clucas

I only watched about ten minutes of the second half today. I didn’t even know the lineup but I immediately knew Joe was playing when I switched it on because there were about four Leicester players swarming into a chasm in front of our defence

He certainly isn't the answer to our lack of creativity and inability to threaten our opponents goal. That said it could have been a different game if Vokes hadn't predictably fluffed the excellent opportunity he had in the first half.

He played well first half and struggled second half as Leicester stepped it up Anyone would he was returning from a long term injury and playing against the third best side in the country.

Apart from the kids, Collins, Bursik, Souttar, I genuinely wouldn't give a shite if virtually any of the other buggered off. What a sad indictment of our current situation this is.

Its more Cosins dropped thats making the bigger impact for me, now there's a player I never thought we'd miss, we're trying to play defencive with out the only player that can play as a DM, nuts.

And the fact his replacement Mikel has been pure dog shit. Still don't understand why we signed him, CM is our most stacked area and with the season clucas had last season it was a strange signing

I only watched about ten minutes of the second half today. I didn’t even know the lineup but I immediately knew Joe was playing when I switched it on because there were about four Leicester players swarming into a chasm in front of our defence And that is the problem. His all action style can come at the detriment of the team’s overall performance. O’Neill will have to work out a midfield that is harmonious because that three today won’t do it. It’s weird. He’s not good enough to build a midfield around, but I’m not sure how he just slots in anywhere.
